Deep Blue is an indie project currently in development. It is an ambient, challenging and diverse experience in which players relax, cast their rod and wait for a fish to bite. It's story driven game-play allows you to follow along and unlock more areas and fish, or take it easy and cast off in this challenging yet relaxing indie fishing game.

Report RSS Location & Area Selection

Today I finally put a menu to location and area selection.

Above is the first menu you encounter while selecting where to fish. You select a location you have unlocked, any which aren't unlocked will simply be a "?". After you select your location, it highlights green and you press select.

This then brings you to the area selection screen, where you select the area within that level to fish from, shown below:

This all uses data from the location and area databases and sets all the level data accordingly. Not any massive gameplay additions, but a necessary system to get out of the way before implementing full-on gameplay.

On a side note I've also decided that I may work on a small Android-based side project!

You should make this game open world (sandbox)..
You wake up,go to the fish store/shop,buy stuff,buy a boat,use the boat,fish,go back to the shore/beach,sell the fish/eat the fish,go to the city,go home,go to bed,sleep.
Simply beatiful..

I like the idea, but I do have a specific play style and storyline set out for this game, so maybe in another project!
