Description
Decimation is a multiplayer, fast-action, 2D pixel-art love letter to several arcade classics like Sinistar, Bosconian, R-Type, and Synapse Software's Survivor for the C64 and Atari 800. Our amalgamation of these hit games from the past allows up to 4 players with XBOX compatible controllers to play cooperatively on one split-screen display. Engage or evade enemy fighters and mine asteroids for resources as an invading alien armada threatens peace in your solar system. Destroy the invading scouts and gunships as you prepare to take on their massive battlecruisers and capitol ships. Can you save your people from certain destruction?
History
Decimation started as a reboot of my very first shareware, space-shooter from the 90's. This version is the full realization of what my original game wanted to be but at the time, my knowledge and experience where not equal to the task.
Building upon my time spent in the game industry as a game programmer, a happy result of using the first version of Decimation as a resume, I have crafted a modest 2D game engine that has allowed our little studio, Loose Toast! Productions, to build this version of Decimation with relative ease, taking only two months to get to a fully-playable Pre-Alpha demo.
Loose Toast is excited about the prospects of launching our Kickstarter to fund the remaining development, the official game artwork, and studio-quality sound effects and music to bring this intense action game to market sometime in Q3 of 2023.
