Cradle features a groundbreaking fast-paced system for melee combat driven by your intent and purpose. When you attack in Cradle it is not a stand-in for a random number generator, the actual strike of your weapon is what determines damage. Cradle’s highly responsive attack and movement systems provide unprecedented control and fluidity in player movement and combat. In Cradle, you fight with your wits and your reflexes, not dice.
First sneak preview of combat and the Wrath of Ostia from the opening of Cradle, the Titanwood.
So how are the controls handled in Cradle? From the look of this, it seems to be Dark Messiah-y, which is definitely a good thing if it is.
I'm looking forward to seeing how yout develop it. ;)
Our top priority with combat is to create an intuitive, fast paced and skillful system that provides the player with a the right tools to easily immerse themselves in the thrill of combat. From our deterministic combat animations to our fluid and dynamic movement, we are paying attention to every detail. This means allowing the player to have a myriad of ways they can attack (animations to choose from), in real time, all with the simple use of two mouse buttons and a keyboard press (of one button). In Cradle, choosing your weapon, as well as how and where you attack determines the outcome of battle, not the role of a dice.
