Conquest of Elysium 3 is an old school fantasy strategy game. You explore your surroundings conquer locations that provides the resources you need. Resources needed vary much depending on what character you are, e.g. the high priestess need places where she can gather human sacrifices, the baron needs places where tax can be collected and where iron can be mined. These resources can then be used for magic rituals and troop recruitments. The main differentiator for this game is the amount of features and special abilities that can be used. The game can be played on Windows, Linux (x86 and raspberry pi) and Mac OSX (intel and powerpc).

Sorry if I missed something but manual says only the following: "Farms, settlements and other locations with a white cross on the tile indicate that the square has been converted to the worship of El. One third of the gold income for that square is always diverted to the coffers of the Church of El". So if I understood correctly I will lose one third of the income of these settlements EVEN if I'd have exterminated the Archbishop and conquered the Temple of El?
Now I have this situation in game. These silver crosses still stay on the seized settlements and on the Temple. So is it so persistant religion and are its followers lost for me forever as the law-abiding taxpayers? :)

(edit) So I checked my demesne again and I don't see the traces of activity of El religion: e.g. Hamlet with silver cross gives me 2 gold. CoE3 Wiki gives me the same number for hamlets. Does it mean that this settlement no longer pays the one-third tribute? So maybe then it would be logical for silver crosses to disappear when the Voice of El player is eliminated?

(anogther edit) Damn, I forgot completely that I play as Senator that gives me +50% income. So , it turns out that religion of El never dies? :)
