Updates take time, but a full 'Early Release 2' is awaiting authorization, so check back. It should be made available soon.

I have published a full release of the game up to this moment. I feel the game is past its beta phase, but I do not feel it is the final product. More content, storylines, characters and mini games are in the works to be added. On one hand it would be easy to walk away from this project, call it finished and start work on another game, but this story and game have grown on me. I would like to see what developes from it. Let me know what all of you think. Should I continue or begin work on a second chapter to Coagula?

Sorry all, news about the second release came before the second release was available.

It had to go through the approval process first. Which took a bit longer than was expected and some of you may have ended up downloading the original beta with all its earlier problems.

Please, don't give up. Try again and make sure the version you are downloading is listed as the beta v2.

Also I should probly note that this game was designed and tested on a Acer using Win 7. Older computers may have issues with some of the coding being used in the game. If so, don't be bashfull let me know so that I can let others know of any problems with running it on older systems.

There is something wrong with this game... Are your beta testers blind ?
I must say, the main problem of that game is the framerate, how can a game with bad graphics like these can run at 10 or less FPS ? (I have a very reasonable computer, i5 CPU and GTX660)
In terms of bad graphics, there is a huge problem with your map, because there is a big problem with the perspective, every sprite is in 2D and seen on the side, and the map is on a 2D with a fake 3D perspective, and it's a sidescroller... Meh.
Controls are terrible, jumping is weird, and hard to aim, even if the game is running in slow motion because of the lag. You can't aim properly when shooting because you can't duck and shoot on little enemies. Some enemies are like part of the map, because you can't select them and you can't shoot on them to kill them. You should be able to aim with the mouse.
The sounds are really terrible, and the music sucks, because it's really choppy because of the huge lag. And when in-game, two musics play at the same time, and it sounds awful. The sound effects are as abysmal as it can get. How can a harp make a weird "bong" sound ?
Alot of things are wrong in this game. And you probably know it, I tried the first beta a few months ago, and thought it was so broken because it was the first beta, but found weird that none of the issues I've seen were mentioned. Now it's the second beta, after FIVE MONTHS, and none of the issues I've seen on the first beta have been resolved. Really ?

The game SEEMS interesting, but I can't play THIS with issues as huge as the ones I mentioned.

Those issues were the issues found in the first beta. The secound beta just got approved and should be listing now. Also if the music is not to your liking, simply press the "m" to toggle the background music on or off.

There are several different spells also now available throughout the game. Including fireballs that aim at the mouse. And at any point in the game, you can press "b" for firebreath so long as you have enough mana, or press down several times to enter lotus position to restore mana.

Smalller enemies can be jumped on to kill except for trantulas and snakes.

Also if jumping on little enemies is to much of a task, a player can simply click on several small insects to squash them.

I've just redownloaded the second beta, to give it a second chance, but the super low FPS issue is still there, I don't really know what to say more, this issue is a huge game breaker : I can't play a game that runs at 10 frames per second or even less.
P.S. : I've just found out that my recording program doesn't recognise the game, and it made me think : Is your engine using a software renderer ? If it is the case, it's not a good idea, because it's super slow, you should switch to an OpenGL or DirectX renderer.

Thanks for the feedback. I am looking into your FPS issues. Also, yes it uses a software renderer, but I will see if I can convert to Direct X and if not then possibly OpenGL. Your feedback is greatly appreciated. May I also ask, what version of windows are you running it on?

PS.. I wasn't aware of any FPS drops before your post since on my pc it runs at 50 FPS and only drops to 30 FPS on boards with over 5000 objects within view. Again thanks for the feedback. I am making this change my first priority.

Let me give you my full specs so you know :
My OS is Windows 8.1 (Update 1)
I have an Intel Core i5 2500k CPU overclocked to 4.2GHz
An NVIdia GTX660
10GB of RAM.
You may now understand I find this issue worrying since this should not be the kind of game I'd be lagging on.

Thank you. For that information. After closer inspection of my engine it would appear that I am already using DirectX and DirectX Music. However, your details helped me locate the issue. It has been brought to my attention that win 8 crashes the app due to incompatibility with sound files using the DirectX music. Aside from removing the sound files completely, there is no solution at this time. A report has already been filed with ms regarding the issue. Rolling back to win 7 will correct this issue for now.

I am also going to convert the mp3 files used into midi files so that there will be more control over effects and sound levels of the background music. Keep our fingers crossed that this might also resolve the issues with the lag and crashes caused on win 8.

Hmmm, this is an unexpected issue. Is it possible to switch to another sound engine like OpenAL, since DirectX's sound engine seems problematic.

There is an external OpenAl solution available called SG Audio that I have been looking into. However, it is turning out to be a resource hog and it seems to be causing more problems and does not appear to be a true solution.

There may also be some third party options that I can look into to resolve the issue. I will see what I can do.
