What is Calm Waters?

Think of a cross between Twin Peaks, Lost and Alan Wake when it comes to storytelling and atmosphere.

The idea came when I realised that there weren't enough of these games out there that can actually capture that wonderful feeling like the classics did.

Remember sitting down at your computer with a cup of tea or coffee and getting all cosy and ready to jump in to an exciting world of mystery and adventure? Or remember that lovely warm feeling inside that you got when you were walking around Melée Island as the sun was setting? Well that's where Calm Waters came from - I wanted to recreate that passion that sadly isn't seen as often anymore in these types of games.

So what's the story then?

Without giving too much away, here's the story:

You play the role of Peter Taylor, a man who lost his wife 3 years ago. To move on with his life, Peter decides to take a vacation abroad.

He arrives at a small, quiet coastal town where tourists are sparse and everybody knows each other.

It's only when he notices people are going missing and all the signs point to a dark, mysterious island out to sea that he decides to team up with local journalist Michelle and terrified-yet-adventure-seeking waiter Glenn to go and investigate.

What secrets does the island hold? What are the locals hiding? And what's causing those blood-curdling screams that seem to be coming from that mysterious island in the dead of night?
