I have decided to make a series of levels all following a story line, and this is the first one. Please read both the text files but please don't read ahead. This is the first level I've ever made in Beret, so I would appreciate some comments with feedback telling me what I can improve on, if anything (which I'm sure there will be). I hope that you will enjoy these levels!

So yeah, that pretty much summarizes my level(s). It is obviously based around platforming, with a few minor puzzles. I'm currently working on the second level, which will hopefully be released within a few weeks (maybe a month) from today (January 3, 2012). I had a lot of fun making this first level in the series and I hope you will have just as much fun playing it! :)

EDIT: Also, please remember not to read any reviews if you haven't played the level yet. It might spoil parts of the level for you. :P

I also realize that two of the rooms are a bit on the large side. I apologize for this but it won't happen in any later levels. Live n' learn. :)

Thanks for the level! Overall I thought the platforming sections were done quite nicely, and there are several clever puzzles thrown in as well. The highlight of the level for me was the antimatter room. Here is some specific feedback for you:

- The two main rooms in this level are fairly large and have a lot going on. It's probably better to separate parts of levels into more smaller rooms so that the player doesn't have to repeat as much if they have to restart the room.
- Ghosts can be turned into infectlings. I used this in the initial room to get an unlinked white infectling, which I used to destroy some green switch blocks that I suspect I was supposed to return to with the switch turned on. If you want to force the player to hit the switch before getting the white medallion, you may want to change the infectlings into black ones.
- Like I said above, I enjoyed the antimatter room a lot. I think you could make an interesting and longer section in the next level in your series that expands on some of the ideas there (antimatter connected to moving link blocks, running from a horde of antiseekers with a turret, etc.).
- Killing the spike ball encased in object- and Beret-only walls might be really difficult on a laptop trackpad for someone who doesn't spot the easier-to-execute but trickier alternate solution. Maybe put a ghost right next to the spike ball to hint at that solution?
- The maze made out of Beret- and object-only walls is a pretty interesting idea. It is possible though to just go through the maze as Beret and collect the blue fragments by touching them through the walls, then leave the room and return to do the other half of the maze (getting the link block out) without having to worry about getting Beret through as well.
- Nice fireworks in the final room. I thought there was going to be a 'boss' room behind that door though!

Oh, is *that* what you were supposed to do?!

I was just about to come in here and complain that in the second room, there was only one bomb when clearly there should have been two... that's clever but I would have given that kind of puzzle its own room, if it would stump people.

Anyway, I think Kiwisauce already mentioned most of what I would have said about this level, but I'd like to mention that in the first room, the presence of the floating block pretty much allowed me to avoid most of the platforming that was necessary in order to retrieve the blue medallion fragments, since, well, I could fly.

I'm looking forward to the next chapter of the story, where the narrator invents more lazy excuses to cover plot holes and gameplay and story differences.

Thank you so much for playing my level and for the review Kiwisauce and Leylite!!! :D I've updated the link with your suggestions. I didn't really change much though, so it's really not worth replaying the level as I didn't move any medallion things or anything like that. I mean, you absolutely can if you want to, but you know. :P

Leylite, as for your suggestion about being able to fly around the room and stuff, I noticed that when I was making the level, but I just kind of overlooked it because I didn't think you could really cheat anything major. But now the more I look at it the more I realize you're right. Heh.
