Beret is a 2D puzzle-platformer game about a scientist, astonishingly named Beret, who has gained telekinetic abilities through his research at the Evil Corporation. He decides that the Evil Corporation is a tad too evil for his liking, and begins his solitary quest to overthrow the corporation and punish the evil deeds of his employers. Beret has 21 puzzle-filled levels, 120 collectable Medallions, over 20 hours of gameplay, and an unlockable level editor.

Beret is a very interesting and fun puzzle-platform game.
I found this to be one of the most exceptional games I have ever found online. The puzzles are simply ingenious. The controls are easy to learn, and the objects introduced in the game always keep the levels new and interesting.

There is 20 hours of gameplay, and none of it feels boring or repetative. There are lots of puzzles for the puzzle gamer, and enough platforming and speed challenges for the platformer. The only downside to this game is that it is significantly harder to play with a touchpad instead of a mouse (at least in my opinion) because of the precise control of the cursor that is required in the later levels of the game.

What I feel is the most amazing aspect of this game is how well the puzzles are designed. The solutions are always amazingly creative, and you never feel that they are impossible to figure out (even though you may get stuck for a while!) And, after you complete everything in all the levels, you get the level editor, which makes this game even more interesting and fun and allows for even more gameplay.

Well done, Kiwisauce! We're hoping for a sequel!

Beret is one of the better puzzle games I've played this year. It takes a simple idea of granting your standard platformer hero telekinetic powers, and executes that idea really well. The controls are pretty smooth as far as controlling Beret's running and jumping, and the walking mode is a good way to finely control Beret's horizontal descent.

The puzzles are what make up most of the time spent playing this game, and I think Kilmer did a great job picking the objects that are put in the game - they behave pretty intuitively, and it's not usually too difficult to start picking up on their applications and possible combinations. The fact that there's only a small number of them used to great effect means that you don't have to struggle to remember what a widget could do; you just know what it does. Most of the puzzles are all about figuring out how to do the impossible, and putting your ingenious solution into place is secondary, although there are exceptions.

There are some parts that I personally didn't like about the game, mostly related to the fact that it takes place in real-time. Speed-run medals are an interesting idea, in that speeding through forces the player to figure out what steps are necessary to reach the exit and which can be ignored, which enemies must be killed and which can be dodged around, and so on and so forth. Indeed, I had a great time speed-running many of the earlier levels in the game. However, I think some types of levels can be more frustrating to speedrun - I didn't have much fun dealing with puzzles like the teleseeker, box and enemy-only wall puzzle in the first room of level 7, and I really can't manage to speed-run any of the levels with bosses in them. Part of this may be due to the fact that I play this game on a laptop with a trackpad.

Beret is a highly original game, and I had a lot of fun solving the puzzles. I hope everyone gets good use out of the level editor, and that the game gets much more mileage.

A unique, innovative platformer with a couple of twists here and there. Really fun to play.

I genuinely enjoyed playing through Beret. In fact, I'm working on playing through it a second time. The controls are nice and smooth and the physics work very well. The satisfaction of solving a puzzle feels really great. I also thought the difficulty curve was just right: started out very easy to get the player used to the game, and ended on a much more difficult note as all the elements of the game were brought together. The bosses were neat and unique as well.

I would highly recommend Beret to anyone and everyone.

This game is amazing! I love it so much! Im such a nerd when it comes to video games. It reminds me of like a mixture of Mario And all of my favortie kiddy games. I don't know why for sure but i do know i love this game! Its challenging and a effort but still fun at the same time.

More a puzzle than a platform game.

If you commit to keep playing instead of give up onfrustration, it can keep you busy for hours.

But maybe the graphics are too simplistic and the mechanics too repetitive to really grow on you. The fact that is necessary to clean 100% every level in order to advance is asking too much for some people.

Anyway, is a nice game, and one couldnĀ“t ask for more when it comes for free. I give it a 78%.

Great game

I liked it, the puzzles were clever, but the layout of the game, and the design just wasn't for me...However, kudos for the intuitive game physics.
