Asteroids Minesweeper is a small abstract casual minesweeper in three dimensions with some slight rules differences, designed for use on personal home computers (with the help of a mouse, a joystick or a keyboard) or tablets (with the touchpad).

Trim an asteroid, don't get lost while orientating yourself in a full 3D environment, and be careful of explosive mines!

Challenges include

  • Tutorial levels
  • Random-generated levels for infinite replayability
  • Levels with a cubes vertical counter, for more deep reflexion on where the mines are located
  • Levels with mines moving from a cube to another, for more challenge!
  • Levels with entangled cubes, which have the same state

Other characteristics

  • Designed to work on PC (mouse/keyboard) or on tablet alike, with several different and combinable ways to play: using joystick, buttons, picking cubes with the mouse/finger, or orientating a 3D cursor
  • For hackers and programmers: Fully moddable. The game is using an early new version of the Loving Cube Engine, and as such can be modified by simply editing some Lua files (API not documented yet in this version)
  • Works currently on Windows in English, portability to Linux and adding other languages is possible
  • A scenario in which you work as a teleworker of Abstract Space Industry Corp to mine asteroids, until things go wrong...

Asteroid Minesweeper Update

News

The game got an update recently on different points:

The size of some levels has been reduced

Some levels has more than 500 cubes to trim and were clearly too long to complete. There are probably still some minor adjustments to do. Maybe I'll increase the number of levels, though.

The story has been improved

More levels contains a message about the Abstract Space Industry Corporation which is decidedly a strange and doubtful company... No more informations in this article because I don't want to spoil the story!

Tutorial

The ambient light has been increased

Because it was hard to see the cubes in the shadows... see below the new version:

The right click button behavior was fixed

No more accidental drag and drop with the right click.

Tablets buttons are disabled by default

... to avoid pressing them by mistake. Additionally, the message to enable them is clearer in the tutorial.

So, get it while it's hot!

The demo has been updated; you can download it here. Of course some of the fixes above are not visible since it is still a demo limited to the first two sets, A and B.

Don't forget: the Kickstarter started some days ago, and I need your help to make this game a reality!
