Music theory isn’t the easiest trick in any trade to master. Not to mention, its visual side isn’t much to ride home about. Well the good folks over at Breaking Wall Studio may have just the answer. Aimed squarely at the six to twelve year old market, Anacruz – Magical Music School is a lovely throwback to the classic point and click adventure games of the early 90’s, in which the player-character is pitted in a grand adventure to regain harmony and order in a land overthrown with chaos and…quite possibly, really really nasty attempts at music.
Built as both an entertaining yet useful title, the game comprises of a series of mini-games of which focus on different aspect of music theory. Coupled with a hint of charm and humor, it aims to be as much about reminiscing on those classic Monkey Island-esque experiences, as it is a great and viable platform for those interested in the World of music from a creative and compositional stand-point. Anacruz is the studio’s first game and has been launched with a tie-in Indiegogo campaign which you can find here.
