Howdy,

So this week I continued to work on the Tribehome, specifically making it more alive by adding people to it.

There will eventually be three types of people - those which you can talk to and offer some sort of service, those which are there as "decoration" and stay in the same place, and others which will wander around and get on with their lives.

For the moment I've started working on the first two types.

As always, each of the characters is procedurally generated - but for important characters it's done deterministically, so it's always going to be the same person in your playthrough, but will have a different appearance for others.

So, let's take a look - starting with the village elder.

elder

This person will always be an old looking man or woman, and will stand outside the Clanhall. I still haven't figured out what exactly I want them to do in the future - perhaps offer minor quests to help the village.

Merchant

In the middle of the market plaza, you can find the merchant, who gesticulates wildly trying to get people to buy their goods. In the future they'll offer an alternative to the trader, but offering simpler goods perhaps.

Beer Garden

And in the beer garden, some people enjoying some rest. They're animated to talk or drink every so often, so it should look like they're having a good experience. These are purely decorative.

And that's it for this week. Next week I'm going to add some randomness to the generic villager's clothing - so the folks at the beer garden won't dress up the same, and then continue adding villagers as appropriate.

Til then.
