Chivalry 2, the latest release from Tripwire Interactive, has surpassed two million sales and released a new devlog detailing their post-launch support plans. As a studio that found its beginnings in mods and modding, their success is a great motivator to UGC creators everywhere, and so here's five mods for their games that come full circle!

Heroes of the West

By Heroes of the West Team

Ardennes offensive

Heroes of the West is a mod created by the RO2 community which brings the RO2/RS experience to the Western European theatre, pitting the US forces against the German Wehrmacht. It also introduces a whole new faction, the British, bringing the 'Tommies' to the RO2 experience. The mod has been developed with support from the developers, Tripwire Interactive. It includes 12 new maps, 10 new character sets 3 new vehicles and 11 new weapons.

Gameplay Overhaul Mutator

Shot 14

A spiritual successor to the ill-fated Immersion Overhaul Mutator of RO2, the Gameplay Overhaul Mutator changes up the core gameplay of RS2 as well as adds new content via weapons, factions, and customization! The focus for this mod is on diversifying the game's factions with content specific to their group, enhancing certain strategies and rewarding a cohesive playstyle that differs more reasonably between the two.

Mare Nostrum

By Pop Smoke Games

1.4 Promotional

Experience some of the fiercest battles of WWII across North Africa with Mare Nostrum. Building on the realistic, tactical game play that made Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45 a fan favourite, Mare Nostrum lets players battle it out in an all new theatre of war. Red Orchestra started out as an Unreal 2004 total conversion mod, graduating eventually into its own standalone title, and now has total conversions for the game that enhance the content available for fans of this hardcore shooter!

Defence Alliance 2

By DADest

West London

Defense Alliance 2 is a total conversion mod for Killing Floor featuring team based futuristic FPS game play. DA2 blends fast paced action with class based tactics to create an experience that is instantly enjoyable while still offering very deep gameplay. Two teams face off in attack/defend scenarios where the attackers must complete their objectives before time runs out. The mod features six different classes: Medic, Mechanic, Rocketeer, Machine Gunner, Sniper and the Rifleman, each with their own special
abilities.

KF-Favela

By smiffy555

Submitted for the GRINDHOUSE competition back in 2015, this map takes players into a unique environment with shattered streets and dilapidated buildings as the backdrop to Killing Floor 2's usual chaotic survival action. KF2's mapping community has gotten more than a few maps made for the game and even implemented by default, continuing a tradition seen by many other studios like Valve.

Swords Up

Chivalry 2 is the newest title from Tripwire Interactive, a company heavily rooted in modding with their commercial titles emerging from classic total conversions like Killing Floor, Age of Chivalry, and Red Orchestra. Chivalry 2 is the sequel to Chivalry, which was, itself, the standalone commercial release of the Age of Chivalry mod. Now having surpassed two million sales since launch, Chivalry 2 has also received a devlog detailing plans for the future, including new weapons, gamemodes, and seasonal events.

March Together

If Killing Floor 2 is any indication, post-launch support for Chivalry 2 will likely keep the game going for a long time to come, providing players reasons to come back again and again. The game's standard edition is currently available on Steam for £35.99 GBP/$39.99 USD.
