ioquake3.org is the de-facto standard in Quake 3 technology post-opensource release. Others base themselves on the hard work of the hundreds who have contributed to ioquake3. Tremulous, World of Padman, Urban Terror. All use ioquake3.org for many reasons.
Does exactly what it should. Runs much better than the version from ID on linux, plays nicely with compiz and pulse audio and didn't break anything. What else could you ask for?

ioQuake3 Engine has so mani options than makes it "just wonderful"
As a start, you can play Quake 3 on 3D, that's just amazing. One of the reasons for why i buy red/blue 3D glasses.
To hell if I EVER heard of a more broken, I say, BROKEN game! They took what was the best of Quake 3 and Broke it in every detail! Corrupting save files, overpowered enemies, dying instantly with full health and armor, frag skipping... IT IS A TOTAL MESS!!!
Keeping the game as the original, awesome support for new computers and systems! Amazing!
