Receiving 'GetThreadContext failed' error when trying to download the client. This seems to be a recent issue with Unity and Avast! 8.

You think it's avast?
I am also using avast but I was always thinking it is because of the 64bit OS I am using?
uninstalled avast and switched to AVG:
no more problems.
