Overview
"X Marks island" is a new multiplayer online board indie game with turn-based controls.
The main goal of the game is to find the Treasure Chest before the opponents and deliver it to your ship.
In addition to the Treasure Chest, you will find Coins scattered around the island, which you also have to deliver to your ship. But be careful! It won't be easy to find the chest and survive on the island! Dangerous animals and traps are waiting for you on the island! In addition, your rivals will surely try to kill you by taking away all the treasures!
The game can be played by 2 to 6 players! Choose the island from the list or create a new one and start playing with your friends or with players from all over the World!
You can play this game on any device which you wish. It is available to play in the browser and also available to download for Windows, Linux, MacOS and Android. In the future it will be available for iOS.
Gameplay overview
If you are logging into the game for the first time, you will need to create an account. It's very fast and easy.
After creating an account, you will be taken to a page with a list of islands. You can join one of the existing islands or create a new one.
Wait for the required number of participants to join the game and the games will start automatically. And while you are waiting for the game to start, you can choose one of six avatars for your character.
Each player has 3 lives. All players take turns. The player has 12 seconds to make a move.
The player can:
- Skip a turn. The turn passes to the next player.
- Move a player to an adjacent cell or shoot an opponent. If a player is in an adjacent cell with another player, he can shoot at him. A shot can damage from 0 (misfire) to 3 life (kill).
- Drink a Bottle of Rum to heal himself. One Bottle restores one life. Bottles of Rum must be found on the island.
If the player does not have time to make a move, he automatically skips it.
While the player is on the ship, he can move on water along the shore or get off the ship onto the land. The player cannot move on water without a ship. But he can return to his ship at any moment. The player cannot board the enemy's ship.
By default, all land cells are closed. Moving through the closed cells, the player opens them. Traps and benefits can be hidden behind a closed cell.
All players need to move through the cells of land to find the Treasure Chest and drag it to their ship. The game ends when one of the players has brought the Treasure Chest to their ship or all other players have died or left the game.
Players get one point for every coin they bring to their ship and 20 points for the Treasure Chest they bring!
The surviving player with the most points wins!
Sometimes a match ends faster than you expected! The reason for this may be an Crocodile that will be waiting for you in any part of the island.
The Crocodile is the special tile where the player immediately dies and leaves the game if he steps on it. There is 1 object on the map in total.
In this video you can see several game moments when the player was unlucky to meet a Crocodile and die.
In addition to traps, the game has many benefits. The coolest is the Air Balloon.
The Air Balloon allows players to quickly move around the map. It gives big advantages and sometimes it can help the player to win. In this video I demonstrate how the Air Balloon can be helpful for delivering Coins and Treasure Chest.
