Glad to see there's still work being done on this mod!
Can't wait to see the finished product. :)
actually insane progress, just checked on this mod literally yesterday so i was super surprised to see this today!
Looking great so far, awesome to see such an in depth mod for Half-Life; keep it up!!
fr, this art man.
Hell yeah! I'm excited for this to release whenever it does. Take your time and thank you!
Hell yeah, awesome to see you're still working on this! :)
Chill out my guy. I'm pretty sure they're doing this for free and have their own personal lives. No need to be demanding and act like they owe you this.
I can't get it to work. I used the mod loader and it shows up as HLO, then when I try to add the map in instant action it doesn't let me due to the map having no selectable eras. What am I doing wrong?
They stuck with GoldSrc due to the fact that it's what they started with. The team has written thousands of new lines of code and implemented dozens of new features. It's more of a testament to their skills as developers, they're proving something as well as improving their own skills. The ARRANGEMENT team has managed to add a whole slew of new and great features to an engine that dates back to 1998; which in itself is now almost on par with the Source Engine due to these years of work. They would be abandoning a long time of work by switching to another engine, as well as making it harder for themselves by starting from scratch. That's my best explanation for why they continued to use the GoldSrc engine.
Because it's running on the Half-Life 1 engine, better known as Gold Source/GoldSrc. It's a mod, not a completely independent game. Although it may be a heavily modified version of the GoldSrc engine, it still is that engine.
So far in the tech demo I've come across only a small amount of bugs. One of them being that SSAO breaks the lighting in the Hub, another being that sometimes the weapons break when trying to aim down the sights. (although this can be fixed by switching to another weapon and then back again) Another thing I encountered was that enemies seem to be able to both see you and shoot you through walls. The city based level sometimes has very noticeable frame drops when looking directly down the line where the Mounted Turret is, but nowhere else, all other stages have consistent FPS. That's about all I could find in terms of bugs and issues, overall though; Amazing Tech Demo with a perfect amount of things to showcase the wonderful work done by the ARRANGEMENT Team. Best wishes for the future. ~Zacharia :)
Will be sure to check this out once I get out of classes for the day. Glad to finally have the first demo since 2012. Hopefully I manage to give some useful feedback. :)
You should probably fix that typo that says you "own them a lot" Lol, sounds a bit creepy, pretty sure you meant "I owe them a lot" ;)
So since it won't be finished in three days, do you have an estimate of when instead?
An hour and a half from now we get to experience glory. Two amazing mods came out so close together. We get Brutal Doom 64, and now Total Chaos; good things all around! :)
Jesus christ, do you people have no patience? Just calm down and wait a bit longer.
Looks like we've got a lot of cancer memes spreading in the comments already. Lol.
