I experienced some laziness in the movement and I think it was due to the high graphics or you have it in there deliberately. It was a really nice atmosphere and sometimes very creepy, got a bit scared of my own footsteps like 8 times since the sound played beside me sometimes. You seem to have all sounds play from the character and not in the actual 3D space which is really disturbing when the monster was chasing me and I heard the steps coming from myself. It was a little immersive breaking when the music cut out and it was all quiet. I think you're going in the right direction with the theme of the game at least, keep up the good work!

It was our first project so we were probably a bit too ambitious with it, however it was a really good project to learn the tools and the engine but we thought it was better to start fresh. When we have more experience it might be worth to go back and remake it, for now we're just focusing on Turf Wars.

Thanks for all the kind words, I like to see that someone is appreciating the subtle horror we wanted to express. Sorry you didn't understand the story and I agree that it wasn't our strongest suit.

The "skinny monster (water monster)" was supposed to be blind but as with most things we had to go around the engine and fake it. We decided to despawn the monster after you died because we think it would brake all of the immersion if you had to try over and over again since the monster AI didn't work like we wanted it to. There are a lot of things that were really hard to make and you had to think waaay outside the box in order to solve them. For example the outside map is a huge model that we pieced together and had to work around that because the HPL 2 engine doesn't have terrain tools.

Unlike the "real" amnesia game we wanted to have more control over the lighting in the maps and how they were made. If you had the lantern or a bright and longer lasting match the game wouldn't have been the same. We rarely used the original lighting for the light sources, we almost always placed out point lights everywhere and if you were to be able to light candles and such it would brake the environment.

In the ending we had to rush it since we recently started high school and had another game project to start with. Which meant that we had very little time for our mod. After delaying it twice and with a busy schedule we felt the need to rush a bit or else the mod might had not been released at all.

In my own opinion this was a fairly fair review and I can admit that some stuff could have been better but this was our first big project and we learned a whole bunch from it.

Even though our mod was not perfect we hope that you enjoyed it nonetheless. Thanks!

Thank you for the kind words, we are working on all the bugs right now. I don't know what you mean with the matches, it's not scripted to go out when you open a door, there's a timer between 9-13 seconds that kills the match. Try it again that's not how it works.

I find it hard to believe that our maps, even the guest rooms would lag that much (the exterior might be a bit laggy), maybe you have multiple programs running in the background. If you have a small amount of RAM then that could be the problem.

Do have all of your video settings on low/medium? If not, you should have that if it lags that much
