Mod dead ok?
This gonna be PoP's version of Heavenly Forge (from homm3).
Hello! Question to developers! Are you planning to make non savegame compatible updates in near future and if so for how long? I reaaaaaly want to play this but I don't have time to restart the game. Plz give some estimate to the matter at least.
Will they do melee? MELEE?!!?!?!? They have pistols cuz they do meleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
I made several attempts myself at balancing the game for multiplayer, but I eventually give up.
First you have the "chance to hit" bug: check for yourself - the stat lies, 80% is in fact ~95% and 20% is in fact ~5%. Even 50% doesn't give 50% but about 60%. I checked that by setting different chance to hit values and counting how many attacks hit.
The second is the heal mechanics. Healing is easily abused as soon as you can heal more than the enemy can deal in a single round, letting races with heal leave the weakest enemy in battle alive and heal their whole party, because Ai is too dumb to retreat. This is game-breaking for multiplayer, because it makes heal capable races op and make players drag the game.
How is melee combat going to be handled?
What do you plan to do with the multiplayer itself, which as far as I know doesn't work? There is this Reclamation Mod for bf2142 you most likely know about. I don't imagine splitting the not very big community of bf2142 on two mods. Are you going to join forces?

Nice. This bestest single pleyer mod for warbandi. Now only 2 months more for bug fixes and I play this.
Even though other sp mods seem to have more advanced features (compared to 3.7), Pop still somehow beats them through superb lore and setting. Looking forward to 3.8 keep up the good work.

Hello im new to this mod and the only issue I have so far is that it has very low amount of sub factions and not much action on world map in general, compared to other mods. I spawned at rhodocks place and all i see are some bandits and manghunters. Am I doing something wrong or is the mod like that by design?

I mean mostly unit balance and combat overall, like bolters doing no damage to buildings or flamers killing light infantry in seconds. With that it actually matters what units You build, cuz u need counters for what enemy has. Overally i like about GiFR that its focused on smaller tactical battles instead of endless spamming like in Ultimate Apocalypse. So far I see Your mod is heading the same direction and that makes me very happy! Campaign is nice too, but I mostly play multiplayer and skirmish.
You should combine this with Galaxy in Fire: Reloaded mod for best Soulstorm mod ever.

I really, really want a battlefield-like game but in a sci-fi setting (planet side 2 is an mmo, i don't touch those).

Very nice mod. I love the amazing models and asymmetrical factions. I hope there will more people playing this. Also You might want to disable automatic blocking on the server so it will be easier to test the balance.
Hate to be that guy, but when I launch the game with wseloader.exe and go to multiplayer -> internet the server list doesn't fill up. When I launch the game normally the server list does fill up as expected but there aren't any servers for this mod. Halp!
Btw: I use non steam version, and game has latest patch applied (1.166)
My suggestion is purely aesthetic. Missionary has a very nice model and animations so it's a pity it's not there. Acolytes with missionary's voice feel kinda awkward after playing vanilla Soulstorm. Also, Missionary's voice lines suggest that they are spoken by a single person, not a squad of people. Ideally I'd love to see the Missionary as a separate unit and Acolytes with maybe a different voice set.
Anyways, I love the mod so far. Been waiting for something that makes Soulstorm more about strategy than spammy battles.
Is there any way the Acolyte from Inquisition can be turned back to missionary? I miss that dude very much :S
Loving the mod so far. I'm having the best fun since prohpesy of pendor. I have one suggestion though. I would love to be able to have an option to disable improved protection of armor. It's silly when armored units can withstand dozens of arrows from say poachers. Also current settings make Juggernauts overpowered to the point it's immersion breaking. Single dude should never be able to take down 40 other dudes. So yeah, anyway an option like this can be implemented?
This is extremely nice to hear. I keep Soulstorm solely for this mod! Although good AI wouldn't hurt, I'm looking forward to play this mod mainly with and against my friends. Anyways, I assume you won't be able to make proper AI before all the units and stats in place so I have high expectations towards the upcoming patch xD. Keep up the outstanding work!
I've been waiting for the SS version of this mod for so long! DC version wasn't enough because my girlfriend wants to play as Sisters Of Battle. Unfortunately, Inquisition is still very bugged right now (missing icons, descriptions etc).
Is the mod still being developed or is this some smuggled version from the moment the developers stopped working on it?
