Hi, welcome to my page! Does anyone actually read this? Alright, I'll tell you a little bit about me. I've always been into modding in one way or another. The first time I was introduced to modding was with Command & Conquer. I was utterly obsessed with that series growing up, and boy when I found out about mods that was amazing to me. Fast forward a couple of years to 2008 and that's when I was introduced to my now favorite series of all time, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.. Let me tell you, this game changed my life. It sounds silly at first, a game changing my life? But it's deeper than that. It's a community. I got utterly sucked into this modding community, enticed by all the brilliant & creative mods. After a few more years of lurking, downloading, and occasionally commenting, I decided it was time to try my hand at modding. With a bit of luck and talent I joined up with the MISERY development team back in late 2011 to help them with weapon design. Ever since then I've been here doing my thing.

Awesome mod, I'm really enjoying it so far! It's been mostly crash free except for a crash when talking to Max (which I've seen reported below). I've also been experiencing a crash that I think I've figured out. I'm pretty sure it happens when a stalker tries to move the dead body of a chimera away from their camp location. Here's the crash:

model doesn't have bone [bip01_l_calf] for section [chimera_weak]

It goes on to point to the file xr_kamp.script line 269 which I believe handles the function of stalkers moving bodies away from camps, however I'm not a scripter so I don't know exactly how to fix it.

*For anyone who has this crash, I did manage to find a workaround which was to kill the Stalkers who were trying to move the dead chimera or to move the dead chimera myself (just move the body far enough away from the campfire). Typically, this crash will happen if a chimera dies near a campfire where stalkers are located.

Life's thrown me a bit of a curve ball lately. The only thing I can say for certain is that I will continue modding for stalker and I will deliver. However, I don't know when I'll have something to release. I still plan on posting up an article within a month or two explaining everything.

I think something is wrong with my game, I'm using 0.98b and the weather has not changed since I started the game. It's been densely foggy the whole time over about 7-12 days.

I think the OGSE mod allows you to put exoskeletons over any suit iirc.

Looks great! I like those comparison shots, lots of interesting stuff. It always fascinates me how textures can change the whole feel of the game. I've played vanilla stalker for so long that it's nice to use a new texture pack and see all the familiar places in a different artist's perspective.

Thanks a bunch for your well thought out comment, you've given me some useful feedback and some things to think about. I've suspected some of the things you posted here, but it's always different when you actually hear someone else say it.

Lately, I have actually thought about Wormwood a lot and I imagine that's probably the most relatable example I can find of a mod that encompasses how I imagine people must see mine as. I remember reading about Wormwood and I never expected it to be released. I thought to myself this is too good and too much to be true. Maybe that's the feeling I'm invoking in people. However, I truly want to make sure my mod doesn't face the same fate. For at least 2 years ahead of me, I can see nothing that would stop me from completing this mod.

I do think I want to continue promoting my mod though, and I think I have a good reason why. I actually planned an article discussing this topic, but to give you the jist of it, I think it will keep me committed and consistent. I'm the kind of person who actually needs deadlines, so the more momentum I put into this, the harder it will be for me or anyone else to stop it.

I see a bunch of people agree with Balathruin, it would be very helpful to me if people would elaborate why they agree with Balathruin instead of just upvoting him. How do you think I could do a better job promoting my mod? Are there things you want to see from me? What would give you more confidence that I can deliver on what I'm claiming? Do you want me to explain certain things in more detail? What direction would you like to see this mod take? This kind of feedback is critical for me at this point in my development.

It's certainly not dead, I'm currently in college on track to become a video game developer. I've been really busy lately learning and trying new things. I will post an article here probably within two weeks at most.

I dunno about the death of the mod, but I do agree that there are other aspects of the game they can work on while Matt is out of action. DonKnotts can still work on textures, and what about that new developer Linda?
