BIT.TRIP RUNNER

Game review

The fourth entry in the BIT.TRIP series, Runner, well I was quite shocked to find that it was a game about running. Running, jumping, kicking, sliding, blocking, and springing to be presice. The game is very addictive, with a rather nice rythm-based feature to it. Every time you do something right, it adds to the background song. Every time you do something wrong, you have to start over. Simple, hmm? Well, the game is actually VERY hard. We're talking about levels such as Odyssey, The Gauntlet, Slobbering Falls, all of them are part's of Runner's steep difficulty learning curve. Also, after a while, you begin to get somewhat bored of it, just hearing about 20 seconds of song then PAWMMM!!! Try again. And checkpints don't appear in this game either, which is a rather unfortunate deal. So, well, if I'm honest with you, I'd rather play Black Mesa than this way-too-hard game about running. (I'm still trying to let the fact that this game is about running sink in) So yes, the addictive gameplay scores this a BI9SCORE of 8, but the only reason it didn't score a BI9PERFECT was the difficulty. Now, when am I gonna be able to review Fate? Hmm... :/
