Ok, I was wrong before. I found the unit which uses that texture: the german version of Barbarian Heavy Cavalry. The file is indeed missing. Surprising no one had this problem before. Here's a hotfix for you for now: Mediafire.com. Just drop it into xc/models_unit/textures. Your battle should then work. If it still doesn't work, or if you can't access the link, let me know.

Thanks for your report!

That's strange. There isn't any unit with that name in XC. When do you get this error? Which units are you using?

Most of RTW diplomacy is hardcoded.

It can cause a bit of lag when scrolling on some computers. But we're looking for a solution to that.

If you're asking about between-turn wait times I don't find that there's much of a difference. As before, it's a tad slower than vanilla but still much faster than the big overhaul mods.

We haven't. We could consider making it a new provincial campaign, though it's too late to get it in for the beta release.

Hi, upon seeing your review our team leader received so much motivation that he has promised XC5 will be 3 times better! About the bronze shields, you have to build a level 5 barracks in a region with the "hellenic" hidden resource. But most regions in anatolia have this resource so the main problem I imagine is building up your cities enough to be able to construct the highest level barracks.

There is a 99% chance that there will be an update this summer. New factions have been added, yes. Keep an eye on the twcenter subforum.

Which faction's turn does it crash on?

Ugh, looks like redfox extras aren't as compatible with XC as we thought they were. Sorry about that. You'll have to reinstall without them.

It's the same as vanilla Marian reforms. You have to build an imperial palace somewhere in Italy and it'll trigger.

Click on "ALTERNATIVE ERAS AND POWERS" in the main menu, it should be in the list there.

Hi! Sorry, we have never had such a bug report before. Your best bet is uploading your save for us to check. (that may not be possible on this site, if you're unable to upload it here you can go to our forum Twcenter.net(XC) and report the bug there)

Hi, you're welcome! If you find bugs it's ok to report them here or on the subforum on twcenter. Actually, someone recently reported the same problem as yours on the forum and a solution was found: Twcenter.net. Basically, reinstall the mod without the Prometheus/Suppanut cities option. The change will be savegame compatible. Hope that helps!

That doesn't sound too great. In that case, they would have to be given at least one region so that there could be a proper civil war.

Hmm, I didn't know a faction could survive without settlements. We can look into that and if it doesn't cause any bugs we can consider implementing it in XC 5.

What difficulty are you playing on? Very hard is a big no-no for this mod, and if you're finding hard too difficult as well maybe go down to medium.
Playing as Rome isn't going to be simple because this mod is set during the Pyrrhic War. Pyrrhus of Epirus invaded southern Italy at this time historically and actually had several victories against them.
My tips would be to build up your economy carefully and don't recruit many elite units early on (they have very high upkeep as you probably noticed). When you're about to build something, click on the building then open the settlement details scroll, in the finances section you should be able to see how that building will impact your income. If you don't already do this, this can really help in choosing the best building to construct. In battles, morale is paramount in this mod. Keep your general close to your troops and remember to use the rally ability as much as possible.

Oh the version in that video doesn't have any missions, it's just that the senate tab is left over from vanilla. The problem is that in order to have a working senate in RTW, the senate has to be an actual faction and has to control at least one settlement.

No, this is the same version as on twcenter.

The unit upkeep in this mod is no accident. This mod was designed to have a different playstyle than other mods, there is more emphasis on strategic management of cities and characters here. The upkeep has been carefully balanced to make the economic part of the game challenging. :)
