Thanks! We're glad you enjoy it.

Don't worry about it, man! As long as you do what you can to make the project into what you want it to be, and deliver the best experience, I really don't mind if the release is delayed. Looking forward to the release, and I can't wait to see more of your work :)

I uploaded this map as part of the project files for my custom campaign.
Please use these maps if you want to, BUT you HAVE TO give credit to other people (who made the custom weapons), and me (for the maps).
This Campaign doesn't contain the necessary .WAD file, and it also contains the setup.exe file for Steam, for some reason. I'm not running the .exe, and NO ONE SHOULD RUN THE .EXE FILE EITHER, until we figure out what this whole thing is.
In case the creator isn't trying to troll us, then, here's some advice for them: include the .wad file and any other custom files you've made and put in the map, and work on making it more professional.

The level design (or architecture, if you want to call it that) looks great! I also really like the "god rays" (I know that technically they aren't godrays, but it's the best the Half-Life 1 engine can do.)
Can't wait for the release!
I use Blender for my own projects as well; it may not be as glorious as 3DS MAX, but it's a hell of a lot better than Milkshape 3D.
I like the level design; it's quite a bit more fleshed out than mere flat walls with textures thrown onto them. Lookin' great!
Love how you used the R2D2 sound effect!
You're right; level design is much more in-depth than people realize. This looks great; can't wait to hear more!
Yeah, you're probably right; I've modded my Cry of Fear files a ton, to the point where it takes a while for CoF to load when I first boot it up. Guess I'll just have to clear some space and do a re-extraction of your Chapter 1.
Keep up the good work!
Actually, it's just the texture, but as of the moment, I'm working on a full port (model, sounds, and textures) right now. In Blender (the free 3D modeling program that I use), I basically group similar faces that are on the same plane together, so as to not have too many vertices.
Oh yeah, and thanks for the support! We'll have a much better version of this relatively soon.
I played a bit of it by myself, but ended up getting rekt by the Sawcrazy in the sewers. Up until the point that my heart stopped, I had fun playing it. However, I did notice a couple of things.
For one thing, after the transition to the second map, the text on the side of the screen disappeared, meaning that the Cry of Fear engine thought that the map was a singleplayer map. Because of this, I was no longer able to use the flashlight. This could be because the maps after the first map (cof_hunterhunted1) doesn't have "cof_" in the beginning of the title.
Also, despite there being several .cfg files that list the items to start with on each map, I was not given these items at the beginning of each map. In fact, whenever I transferred maps, I actually was stripped of all of the items in my inventory.
Other than those couple small things, I enjoyed what I've played thus far; the level design is good, the lighting is ominous, yet appropriate, and there's some good tension at parts. I'm setting up a LAN party so my buddies and I can maybe finish this whole thing, but until then, I'll have to get owned by myself.
Hope you find a fix for those minor bugs, and keep up the good work!
My friend and I would absolutely love to play part of your product, even just the first chapter! Some dev's choose to release their game in multiple fair-sized chunks (such as Telltale's "The Walking Dead"), and while it may be considered unconventional, it's okay, if done in the right way. Can't wait to schedule a LAN party with my friend and I to play this!
Modelling can be a little tedious, so it's no wonder that big-time dev companies have a team dedicated to just modelling. Keep up the good work!
Hey, sorry I'm getting to seeing your comment a couple days late.
I just attempted to download it, but I had to disable adBlock first, then it worked.
This is kind of a stupid question, but: do you have AdBlock, or a similar plugin/software? If so, try temporarily disabling it, then see if it works (that is, if it doesn't work already, considering how I'm just now getting to your comment, and ModDB's download servers are a little weird somedays).
Looks good! What mod is this gun from again? I'd like to maybe work with it myself :D
That's a really good looking note; looks very authentic, and very detailed. I love it!
I totally agree; it takes time to make a truly good map, and while modders and mappers do get better over time, while it does reduce the time and effort spent, it's still quite a bit of work. All in all, you're progress seems great, and I can't wait to see more!
The room and the camera angle remind me of the very beginning of P.T. Love it!
Looks great! Can't wait! 8/8 m8!
Thanks! I'm glad that you're not giving up on our mod because of the unpolished demo; I'm working on version 1.1 of the demo at this very moment. Thanks again for the support!

We're a YouTube channel/production group currently working on "Alone", a Cry Of Fear Custom Campaign mod. We are using this page primarily for updates/project info about Alone, but we might feature some other stuff from time to time.
