Hey guys the new version looks great I am astonished, though I got a big issue, my Shadow quality was on high in the previous versions and it still is, but ever since I installed the new version shadow is none existent in any of the maps even though it active on high settings in the custom settings, what should I do?

Your work on the map of Umbar is a piece of art, work of a master nothing to compare with it! Thank you.

Ok, I know I might receive some hate for this true, but here goes!
Rings of powers themes and moral messages were crap I agree, and the plot is totally non cannon, or atleast an assumption on what was going on in the early stages of the 2’nd age.
But the visuals... my god I can’t even keep my eyes off, Eregion looks legendary, Numenor is beyond the use of a mix of Traditional Classic Roman meeting Gothic Arcitechture, it’s like all ancient human civilizations from west to the Near East and... meeting into one.
And the Music is the best ost I heard this year, everything about it is epic. I was wondering if the team could use some of these music themes, I mean Khazad-Dum theme is beyond perfect and awesome for Erebor in some occasions like building and all, or Nolwa Mahtar for some Lothlorien activities!
It’s just a thought!

If we have any big time Song of Ice and fire fans, I just noticed a very huge analogy in fire and bloods adaptation the house of the dragon and Middle Earths history of Gondor and Arnor. It is safe to say if not considering the Dragons, old Valerya and Numenor have more things in common than just one, and both cultures met the similar Doom all because of their own arrogant pride. During the reign of King Visserys the I in the series there was a huge and over repeatative conflict that reached Westeros shores, a now unified Triarchy of Pirates from the free city states in southern Essos of the cities of Lyse, Myr, and Tyrosh they were led by one certain Craghar Drahar AKA the Crabfeeder (inspired in turn by the famous Ottoman pirate Barbarossa) a pirate lord. Crabfeeders fleet of Corsair ships grew so numerous and strong he was able to unleash a full blown out invasion on Westeros before he was killed by Daemon Targaryen and his fleet and army destroyed. In LOTR and ME cycles we have the none stoping threat of Umbar and the Corsairs that terrorize Gondor and other parts of coastal regions of ME for eons and the conflicts never cease even onto the time of the war of the ring, and much like the Triarchy the Corsairs and the nobility of Umbar must have exerted more power over petty regions of Harad and Umbar itself alone , they might have also enforced most tribal war bands to war with Gondor as well. Also there were many pirate lords among them of Numenorean (later black Numenorean) descent, take Herumor and Fuinor in the second age for example who also became great lords amongst the Haradrim (the faction we are going to have now with two similar Black Numenorean lords who are ironically brothers too) Later there were others too like Castamir and his sons along with many Gondorian exiles after the kin-Strife. Also it is worth mentioning apart from the United Corsairs of Umbar and Haradwaith similarity with the Triarchy, the Targaryen civil war known as the dance of dragons also reminds me of the famous Gondorian civil war the kin-strife that took the core of its power and stature away, thousands dead on both sides and even more exiled later absorbed into the corsairs in Umbar, putting Osgiliath to waste and leaving Gondor ever vulnerable to attacks from their
enemies, the Targaryens too lost all their Dragons and it was only a matter of time before they all fell which they did. I know G.R.R Martin is a big time fan boy of Tolkien and his works but now I see he took many inspirations from him then one realizes. I thought I share this with you guys, hope you enjoy the comparison and I thank the Aotr team again for their priceless effort on this amazing mod!

The game is set during the war of the ring, and the Easterlings we see during that time were pretty attached to Sauron, they were liberated from his will right after he was defeated though.

The balance scale looks lit, and Mordor is made GREAT again.
Btw I wanted to ask sth, is there a way to change the animation of some of the Flying units? Like Felbeasts and Eagles just blow up into bits in a bulb of light when they are killed while Giant Bats come crashing down! Is there any way to make the Felbeast and Eagle death emote more logical?
Thank you again, am very excited for the next update!:))))

Blue wizards traveled East, as far as East goes, not south! And the Easterlings has many tribes and people’s who were persuaded by the Blue Wizards to oppose Sauron and his servants! And that they did. In Tolkien’s last letter regarding the blue wizards he says they were successful in their task, otherwise the forces joining Sauron from the east would have outnumbered the west, so the ones we see joining him during the war of the ring are only fanatical minorities.
Besides they also sold their own people into slavery, the slaves of Nurn which Aragorn frees and gifts the lands around Nurn to them for the hardships they been trough!
So no, not all Easterlings served him, it’s a dark and dim idea to accuse a whole nation for being Evil, and Tolkien was very specific Sauron was the reason behind it (and partly Khamul) not the people’s themselves. And the Easterlings we hear about in the first age like Ulfang and Bor are not to be mistaken by those we see in the Third age, they don’t even come from the same place!

The Khandish are mercenaries mostly since the word Variag is of Russian origin meaning the same, the Rus refered to Vikings by that name! In the Aotr lore wise they seem to be a contingent of Northmen who traveled that far south, eventually mixing with the population and changing but their culture seems intact, wielding round shields and axes or riding horses.
Ancient Persians have a better counterpart in the Blacklocks Dwarven House in the Orocarni, having gilded brades and trimmed beards in a Akkadian and Achaemenid fashion

Actually, the Black Numenoreans were much more fanatical in comparison to all other nations of men in their loyalty to Sauron, they were the ones who brought Southrons to the edge of what the are now, years of Suppression and Numenorean supremacy and all that to make them hate Gondor for it, people like Herumor and the sons of Castamir. All and all, Easterlings were near barberous nomadic tribes who above all else crave power and spoils of war, pretty much like their hunnic and Turco-Mongolic counterparts in our own world!

Jesus these black Numenoreans are sure as hell the cherry on top for Haradwaith.
No wonder so many more indigenous tribes and peoples were influenced and enslaved by them to fight in the war of the ring, since it’s pretty obvious who was (is) the white cat!
Great article, I’m sure Tolkien himself would have been proud if he read this sketches!
