I recommend that you join the Active Neotokyo Players group on steam (it's the one with the white tiger on an orange background). It's a fairly active community and announcements go up when people start playing.

Honestly, I'm surprised that you didn't expect a spot in the top 100. The amount of work you put into this mod is staggering, and it is more interesting than any other offering I've seen on ModDB. You deserve all the praise you get!

As much as I hate DRM, I cannot stress enough how good of a platform. It has become a pinnacle to the gaming community, fostering independent gaming growth and treating the consumer better than any other platform. If Steam is the best bet against piracy, so be it.
Steam is as strict as I think DRM should go, however, and I think there should always be games with DRM-free alternatives. Not every game, but some.
I'd say that instead of Steam making me accept DRM, it rather makes me expect and demand more from DRM platforms. For example, you take away my right to launch a game without hassle and install it on as many systems that I want, how are you going to compensate for that?

The scope of the mod alone puts this leagues ahead of anything other solo mod creators have made, not to mention the amount of work poured into this. You are, and will remain, an inspiration!

It's a weird glitch, but make sure the folder that the darkmod.exe is located in is named darkmod. That's what worked for me, anyway.

Woah! It's great that you get to work so closely with a AAA publisher! Hopefully this means VCD gets more exposure :D

Quick question, are you thinking of implementing other "practical" weapons, like weapons that also function as tools? I'd love to see the crowbar be used to force open doors and the like. Of course that means new animations and door systems, so it might be more work than it's worth.
Anyway, I'm loving how the game is coming along so far!

If I may offer a suggestion on the sounds, the firing seems to cut off when you fire another bullet, instead of carrying on the sound. It's not as apparent in full auto, but when you massage the trigger and only fire a couple of shots, it's very apparent.
Other than that, great work!
