I am the steam version but I found a way to run the game with the launcher.Maybe your can try like this:
Right click the generals.exe - properties - Run as administrator - Compatibility mode - WinXP SP3
And now you can play with the launcher.exe

hahahaha,I am not the pro player.I lose the match 10minutes ago with restrained hard AI.Which one is more friendly? I guess the skynet is easier than the restrained according to your words,doesn't it?

I find there are two AI scripts with in the non-installer zip.One is restrained and the other is skynet.I compare with the two ai.I think they are too much better than the original AI.The skynet AI is so crazy difficult,but the restrained is a little difficult.I don't know whether it is right~What is the recommended?
