Oh My God...
I remember this game, it was way tooo fun on the NES, downloading now, i loved the game with the hostages and all those tanks and buinker trying to take you down!!

Try to make a secuence of commands instead of one command controlling it all....

I'll see my limits on GM, but i can't reassure you since i've been using GF for a long time now.
When i tried out GM i saw way too much limits in what concerns coding and the sorts, but that's ok i'll see if i can get used to GM, then i'll help out.

Dude if you need help i can help out on making working sprites, sound, tiles, objects and anything else you'd want... just pm me... although the sprites would probably only work on the games factory which would fix the RAM problem...

Oh what the heck... if you want i can make a complete remake of this level, of course with your storyline and music/sounds... and you'd get all that for free...just pm
