Spellbind just got its first major update

spiderkeygames Blog

Spellbind was released on Steam a year ago. The steam community reviews and the direct messages we received led us to a major update. This update includes the new English texts corrected by a native speaker. We have also added steam cards, emoticons, badges and a few profile backgrounds. We hope that all these, along with the existing game achievements, will compensate the steam users. Many users have reported some bugs to us which we did our best to fix as soon as possible. This update will be available to the other stores in a few days. You can benefit from the 30% discount of the game on Steam for the next few days. Thank you all for your support and the constructive feedback.
Don't forget to spread out the Spellbind.

Two new games released!

spiderkeygames Blog

It’s been some time since the last update. During the last 8 months, we actually had some activity on several projects.

JAQK Rush beta is available on Facebook platform. It is our first game that uses the Unity’s WebGL platform. Unity’s WebGL looks promising but it’s not without problems. The game is hosted on Heroku and we have already started working on multiplayer mode.

JAQK Rush soft launch coming soon!

Just a quick update about the development progress. Single (or adventure) mode is almost complete. A couple of months are needed in order to test it, polish it and fine-tune the level difficulty. Fine-tuning the levels is not an easy job. We will try to find the right balance between difficulty and fun factor so players will be able to finish the game painlessly. Additionally, it is about time we started performing some elementary marketing activities. This actually means sharing more info about the game. We will start with the usual stuff, that is, screenshots, more regular blog updates and a teaser video.

So, JAQK Rush is a casual game which combines a new ‘hi-5 matching’ mechanism with the feeling of a classic poker game . A Facebook soft launch is scheduled by the end of the year. In the meantime we will start working on the multiplayer mode which, in our humble opinion, seems to be the game’s secret weapon. If by any chance you want to be a beta tester for JAQK Rush, please like our Facebook page and drop us a message.

JAQK Rush is coming!

spiderkeygames Blog

Spellbind officially belongs to the past regarding development. But we are very happy to say that our small group has been enhanced with two additional persons which also happen to be good friends of ours. They will actively participate in the development of our new game.
So the good news is that we are able to announce JAQK Rush, a social puzzle poker-based game. Certainly, this is not something new, there is an abundance of poker puzzle games but we think that JAQK Rush somehow dares to differ by combining classic matching game gameplay with a concept based on plane geometric figures.

The target platform is Facebook. Once again the development tool is Unity3D. Currently a working prototype is being prepared and the first comments by people who have already tried it are really promising and encouraging. Soon we will publish the first gameplay video which will hopefully give you a better idea of the game.

Spellbind is coming to PC!

spiderkeygames Blog

Spellbind has already been downloaded more than 6K times since March and has received some quite useful feedback that made us realize the strong aspects of the game. Therefore I decided to start porting Spellbind to desktop machines. I wanted it to be a raw and quick port, without effort, so Unity seemed to be the only realistic option. Rapidly prototyping games using Unity, even 2D ones like Spellbind, is fun and so far everything rolls smoothly. Sure, there will be some minor changes in inventory because we are in the the PC world now and we can afford full mouse support. But besides that, the game will be almost identical to the mobile version.
