It's a double edge sword. Linux isn't a viable gaming platform because few develop on it, and few develop on it because it isn't recognized as a mainstream gaming platform.

Steam conversion to Linux is a nice change. However until all of the big developers start doing it then nothing much will change.. When Battlefield 4, Dishonored, and Bioshock type stuff hits Linux - then you know it is mainstream.

Another issue - I have 300 games on Windows. Until they become totally obsolete over a long duration of time, I won't be able to run Linux Distros. I'm not dumping 300 games. My friend switched to Mac, and in the process lost 90% of his game library, and most of the new releases. Not a good situation.

I really discourage developers from devoting time to Linux porting. Generally, Linux isn't a gaming platform (and sadly). Anyone that games has no choice but to run Windows. Until the time arrives where Linux is more mainstream it's really not wise for anyone to spend time developing on it.

Problem with this game is the AI cheats like crazy.

Otherwise, it is a great game in the style of Abstractanks. But I believe the first game of this type was Little Stars, a fantastic game even today.

Absolutely gorgeous, and fun. This is in my view, exactly what I expect from an indy title.. I recommend this, as I have found no bugs in the latest versions, and it supports all resolutions, widescreen included.

Really fun, and kid friendly!

I love this type of game. Basically if I am not misake it's lineage goes way back to Little Stars for Little Wars. Concept is quite similar, and the lineage continues with; Starlink, Eufloria, Astralux. All great games to me because I love the concept!

I purchased this, but a few things I would really like to see in it..

1) Upgradable spawnpoints. Perhaps flesh them out to be factories where you can set production values for the node itself. Such as defense default on spawn, etc. Also perhaps you could add in options to control spawn points, such as having the spawn itself in 'guard' where it produces less units, and you can change it to 'fast' production so you can increase unit spawn time.

2) Starlink has planets which give various bonuses OR negatives. For example one planet might have great metal resources, and build faster units, another might have hideous weather, slowing production, still another might boost shields around it because of the ions. You could do something similar with this which would add tremendous depth.

3) A dynamic campaign would be really fun, and replayable if you procedurally spawned the maps. Wow.. Think of the replay! But also you could actually sell DLC's for enhancements. Auralux sells DLC's for different map layouts, etc.. So perhaps later - a way to make money yet provide great gameplay.

4) Consider mega-tanks.. If a tank sits next to another tank for too long it combines into a larger tank. A few of the other games like this do this. It encourages keeping units alive as long as possible, makes them more valuable for the long term.

Overall, love the game, and especially love the potential for it.
