Yes, and thats why fighting tournaments and campaigns will have rules. Game masters will be able to set rules that govern the world.

In opened, free-for-all worlds, the best rig, the best internet speed and the best peripherals, will have advantage; no doubt.

Official tournaments and campaigns will definitely have a ruleset that helps create balanced scenarios.

We are still working on automating it, so we can update everyone in one bulk. Should happen in the next 48 hours, unless Desura needs a specific method, which might take a bit more. But yeah, VIP for everyone, one price, one effort.

In fear of boxing the game into something it isn't, I don't want to call it an MMO, but we are planning on having persistant online worlds maintained by players. Where you will be able to travel to. Many destinations will turn into official spots, like Arenas for Battle Tournaments.

I just don't do much console news updates, its not popular among the crowd ;)

Totally, Linux is one of the supported platforms. Currently we are fixing issues with graphics options.

No need to upgrade, this is the FULL game. And by FULL game I mean the early, early alpha :)

Thanks, the console is our cheaper-and-faster-way-to-get-to-market system. And as an added benefit, makes you look badass programming your bots.

Yes true. The console is more powerful than the grid. The next build will have the grid be equally as powerful. The final goal is that you can program your bots, fully through console, and fully through grid hex tiles. And even switch mid commands.

The console though, lets us get you features more faster. So from time to time, the console might get a feature before the grid.

Ouch, so much hate, I was sleeping. Did we really F'd up that much, "rip off war z style" much? Man leave that for when I sleep for 24 hours. We'll give you full VIP access if you PM me.

Now seriously, the more hardcore physics and math guys we get on VIP the better, just PM us.

I had no idea people would be interested in VIP access to our experimental stuff. But if you have mad skills in physics and math and can help us shape the game. Come on board. PM for a code to get full access to VIP. The more skillful people we have helping in VIP the better. We just can't get much help from players that don't understand PID controllers, Inverse Kinematics and complicated stuff like that. So Desura is the FULL game without the hassle.

This is crazy, I had no idea, there would be interest in the $30 version. And let me be very clear, the Desura game is the FULL game, EVERYTHING. The $30 is our VIP access to everything we are doing, even horrible experiments that will never see the day of light. But hey, if you guys are interested in participating, we are all for it.

The game was meant to be at $20 to actually be monetizable, but we thought lets just make it $10, we want people to afford the risk, while it gets better. Little did we know. Hehe.

But again, just PM us and we'll get you on the VIP threads and everything we are doing over there. Bring your math and physics skills with you. PM asap so we can give it to you at no cost, we'll update the description so players don't feel misleaded.

This is awesome, thanks guys for the support.

Yup, still using Unity3, we need 10 licenses of Unity4 asap.

For gameplay videos, absolutely:

These are quick guides:
Rawbots.net

And we just added to the front page a playlist of the communities creations:

You are getting the same game, but from a different perspective. Your builds are more stable, while at the website we are trying all kinds of stuff, many will never make it to the final game. The fun part of the $30 is mainly developing it with us. So if you are very mathy, can handle hardcore physics and robotics, and you want to experiment, go for the full dev experience.

Part of the funding is for getting Unity4 licenses, where we will be able create Linux builds.
