Short update:

Been working hard to stabilize my life stuff. So far it's been good, and I have great news. By the end of this year, I will be in a really good position to continue some development on this project. I've been planning things on paper and I've come up with some very outside-the-box concepts I hope people will like. I will need to do a third rewrite of some code but it should be a very quick process. Strong stable code is good, but I'm a big fan of versatility.

I'll give you a hint to something nice: since the first day of mouse and keyboard controls, I've aimed for enemies to be able to fight back adaptively and equally as fierce as the player.

Thanks for the support. It was hard to write the article... took a plodding 2.5 hours to try and write it in a way that IS intriguing. Also, sometime soon, I'll do a Q&A thing like what Archie did with his project.

I think this should've been a player model from the beginning. It shipped with HL and has been there the whole time but never had a use for it. :/

In time (a lot of time) this will be released, and the source code with it. However, a bunch of us will make a variety of maps to example how the game is played in our own image and style. The story mode will be cut out completely, but there will be a variety of maps to play by the time of its release. It's turning into a kit of sorts. All of the tools, models, prefabs, and documentation will go with it so no one will be in the dark when creating new content. This isn't meant to rival Portal, but many say its the Portal of Goldsource. That being said, we'll focus more on expanding the experience past what it already is and make things more interesting.

Hit some snags along the way, as soon as all the kinks are worked out, there will be a demo. Things were looking good, and we even alotted some extras time, but stuff happens we can't account for.

I'm also fighting the urge to go screenshot happy, but I've decided to keep the surprise to it's maximum extent. Will update as soon as possible.
