No, on both counts. Our co-op will be a more traditional co-operative venture, and it certainly wouldn't be used as a demo.

The page says 50% up by the top.
"bbenjoe" wrote: So that "Yes." simply meas, that BM will be released?
Yes.
"bbenjoe" wrote: But you won't use Source engine's improvements from HL2 EP1, right?
You can see HDR and Phong fresnel shading in the released screenshots.
"bbenjoe" wrote: Oh; in the upper right corner at the 'Deatails' section look at this: 'Download: Avaible Now' :)
The trailer is available under our download section.
Congratulations to everyone who participated, well done.
I never realised what a manwhore you really are, Uncle Stormy.
Ignoring the fact that it's completely out-of-character for a Half-Life game, including self-awareness is way beyond the scope of our project. Also bear in mind that Arkane had a few more tools and a lot more customisability when developing DMoMM since they licensed the Source engine.
"bbenjoe" wrote: BM team: You will include the black assassins, right (the ninja women with silenced pistols), and are you going to create female scientists and/or security guards? Please answer theese questions.
Yes, the latex-clad female assassins will be returning. We're also including female scientists, but not female security guards (despite what you may hear about Black Mesa being an equal-opportunity employer).
"Jaddori wrote: Can i please be a beta-tester or something like that? I loved HL1's invironment and i would love to see it in the Source engine.
Asking to be a beta tester is a sure-fire way to not become one.
Seriously folks, there isn't going to be a public beta. We may be choosing active and prominent forum members and IRC users to participate in a closed beta test at some point, but for the time being it's a long way off.
Please refrain from discussion about switching development over to the Doom 3 engine.
It is not going to happen under any circumstances, and I will remove any further comments on the subject.
"DarkSantaClaus" wrote: when is the next media release anyway? is there going to be any gameplay movies? I just don't want to download the hacked version just to see how the gameplay is like.
Considering that the stolen alpha contains no functional NPC's and only a few weapons, none of which work properly, I'd say you'd be wasting your time on it.
Regardless, our upcoming media release is scheduled for sometime soon in the coming weeks. we've suffered a few minor setbacks, but we're working around the clock to get our website finalised and the media out the door.

"bbjenoe" wrote: Still no website. Should I worry?
No, we're still alive and well. We're working on an all-new website, stay tuned for updates.
Varsity wrote: Technically, yes, and Valve aren't too keen on their little project despite not having made any moves.
It's hardly suprising that it isn't a contentious issue with the public though, as it's informally the same IP as is in HL2.
And I take it you know how keen Valve are on our little project because you're on the developer team and are in communication with them, right? :|
No, we never said it would be in September. One of the senior developers said that the next update would be in a month ending in "-ber", so we've still got four months to go. ;)
We're always hiring in all positions. Send an application (with samples of previous work) to jobs@blackmesasource.com or pr@blackmesasource.com, and someone should get back to you shortly.
