I totally agree, but I don't think steamworks support will happen. This pretty directly draws from a certain Clint Eastwood movie franchise, and studios are sue-happy fun spoilers. Valve probably knows about this mod, but doesn't want to risk it venturing into murky legal waters and take on an entity that could potentially bring a lawsuit their way, no matter how good the mod creators' intentions are.
tldr - stupid legal technicalities will probably prevent this from hitting steamworks.
R_yell, I've been playing this mod since the early days (even playing against you a few times), back in the first betas I believe and I have to say it's amazing to see it all coming together. Awesome awesome work.
