We've actually wanted to do a rebalancing of the artifacts, but the problem is time. We might do it in the future (I personally hope soon, but we'll see), but we didn't do it for 1.1 because it would've added at least another month, possibly two, to development time.

This mod release is for people who like stalker, and thus immersion. Removing the HUD is part of that. If this really bothers some people, I can point them in another direction.

We'd like to, since it's a great game (unlike CS oh god get it out) and has a vastly improved engine, but that's just not in our immediate vision right now. We'll let you guys know as soon as we do.

Yes, but there's a bunch of problems that come with it. We've tried it, but decided that it's better to just leave it as it is. Especially since we plan on applying LURK to CoP.

As for your question, I'm not too sure if Holden's said this on here (way too much text for me to look at. And I'm lazy.), but we're creating a new save system. It completely removes the ability to save on your own, and instead we're implementing a checkpoint system. It'll save each time an objective is completed/finished/updated.

We're well aware that many people may object to this (since CHANGE IS BAD OH GOD), so it'll be an option upon installation of 1.1.

I think your armor idea sounds terrific, providing stalkers the ability to really scavenge. The real purpose of scavenging is to take used or unwanted items and use them for one's personal gain. I believe the ability to get armor in the field, but have it be greatly degraded, would heavily push this aspect into the focus of the zone.

My ideas on the matter:
- Change the name of the armor to make it apparent that it's a worse version; something along the lines of adding "damaged" to the beginning of the armor's name.

- Optimally we could replace all of these used armor inventory HUD icons (the one that appears on Strelok) with a more "worn" icon. Of course, this takes time and we might not have the abilities, so that would be lowest on the priority list.

- I think we should make them financially worthless, maybe 100 rubles. If they're worth anything, then it'll become a grinding game, making stalkers gather armors and sell them to traders.

- We should make the droprate of these armors rather low. Otherwise, a stalker could just get a new one the moment their current damaged armor became useless, removing the necessity for an upgrade.

That's all I have to say at the moment, let me know what you guys think.

We're extremely close to releasing, just doing a few polish bits and bugfixes. I'd love to say within a couple days, but with our luck we'll hit some huge bug on that day. We're almost there, we promise.

At this point in time, we have no plans for transmutation, due to the fact that all previous attempts at it in other mods has resulted in the game's balance being torn to shreds. While it is obviously possible to make balanced, it's low on our list of features to implement for the time being.

It's absolutely possible. We're going to decide what maps to add (from both CS and CoP) after we release 1.1. For now we're just focusing on finishing the patch.
