So, is this project just done? What happened? I hope if it was given up on you guys release it into the public domain or something similar - I'm sure there are a few people who would love to continue development in their free time.

It has much lower requirements, as cw3 was built in Unity, and cw was built with flash. Unity adds a very significant performance boost.

at least directX 9/openGL 2 compatible video card, though that may be a bit high...

There is not yet an official linux version, however the game will run under wine. Best of luck!
