Today Im going to tell you about few other similiar games I have come accross. So heres the list:

Terraria

Terraria has often been compared to minecraft as "2D minecraft" thou it offers a lot more. TErraria has bosses, npc that require certain things to be completed to move in to your town and offer various services, hundreds of different enemies, spells, dungeons, unique artifacts, zelda like leveling, randomized items plus offcource online play and all the features in mincraft. Well only bad thing is that it misses the 3D aspect o minecraft and worlds are a lot smaller. You character can however go to another worlds and keep all its items gear, etc...

Once I tought that terraria as far superior to minecraft what comes to exploration, building and biomes but now minecraft has takens serious adventure leaps.

Junk Jack

This game is for ipod, iphone, etc only! While this game does not have as fancy thingys as minecraft or others like it it's a very good game to play when you are in a buss, or just waiting for something. There are lots if things to build and explore only thing that bothers me a bit is the constant tapping on the screen to mine something but you will get used o it. Crafting books helps you in creating various items and as in other minecraft variants enemies will try to ra"# your a&&. Nice touch was adding a mineaple back wall to the game that may also provide ore compared to other 2D minecraft variants.

Starbound

In Starbound you start your game in a space ship trying to find a planet to colonize from infinite"?" amount of randomly created planets. The game has different races to choose from and you can even research new tech and play online with your firends.

Not much is yet known about starbound as it is still in delopment but check more info form their website.

Edge of space

Edge of space is currently goign through kickstart and still needs about 5000 dollars of funding please support if you like these kind of games =) Edge of space is space oriented sandbox game that has lots of great new things to add like mechs, space ships and strange creatures.

Hi, its Wanhus again bringing you info on RPG games again =)

This time I'll be informing you of the most interesting RPG projects in kickstart.
Those wondering what kickstart is: It a place where you can try to get real cash support for you project. The project can be anything. Most of the people offer rewards for supporting them like give 30 dollars and get the game free plus lots of extra goodies etc.

All of the following RPG game projects have gathered enough funding to go in to developement!

Wasteland 2
Wasteland 2 kickstart page

Wasteland 2 is sequal to wasteland 1 ( doh ) that was made in the late 80's. Wasteland 1 was the game that inspired Fallout series, Fallout 1 also has the same developers ( Brian Fargo and all the rest ) as Wasteland 1 and Wasteland 2.

In wasteland is a roleplaying game where you play as one of the rangers doing mission and guests while exploring the world around you. Combat is turnbased ( wuhuu ) and decisions made during the game actually affect the game alot giving it huge replay value,

I have not played wasteland 1 exept trying it a bit as a kidd but back then the language barrier ( couldnt understand english ) was too huge for me to play. =(

The Banner Saga

Banner saga is a turn based roleplaying game set in the Viking mythology. The game is promised to feature huge risks while exploring the games world that will affect your group a lot. The game serie will be a three parts long and will feature online play.

Shadowrun
Shadowrun kickstart page

Shadowrun started long ago as a pen and paper RPG where cyberpunk meet fantasy. There orcs with cybernetic implants and miniguns in the sewers. Elf gangs using magic to raid and trolls as heavy duty guards for corporations and DRAGONS!!!!. I my self met shadowrun as the pen and paper version then later on it was made into a sega game that didnt give it enough credit but was still entertaining and fun. Later it was made in to a pure FPS and that sucked donkey jingles.

Now they are finally making it as a turnbased RPG that should be very close to feeling the same as the pen and paper version of the game did. This version will also feature editor for players to customize and make their own adventures and worlds.

Money gained about: 630000
At 1000000 another huge city will be added and improved editor

What is Fallout?

For those of you who dont know fallout or only know those that bethesda made like Fallout3 and fallout new vegas ill explain what fallout is about.

Fallout

story
In fallout you live in a vault that people seeked refuge when the nuclear war started. Sadly your vaults water purification chip is dying and our vault need a replacement and you are chosen to seek one out from the unforgiven wasteland.

Gameplay
There is a realtime mode that is active when not in combat and you can move and function freely.
The game goes to turnbased mode once the combat starts. You spend action points to shoot/hit/reload/move/etc... Once enough experience is accumulated trough stealing, lockpicking, killing, doing guests, etc. you gain a level and can set your skill points. Once every 3 levels ( 4 if chosen a trait that buffs your skills ) you get to choose a perk that gives you a major bonus on something you have chosen. More and better perks come available once you level up more.

World
The game world is large and you travel on world map to various locations. Setting is barren wasteland but ther are many villages and larger towns along with caves,vaults, ruins, etc. You will meet mutants ghouls, humans, tribals and robots on your travels. Most of them wont like you at first or ever. Also Richard Dean Andersson ( Mac Gyver, Stargate ) voices over Killian Darkwater and he even looks like him.

-This dungeon master like rpg is answering to the call of many rpg fans that have long waited for those old dungeon crawlers like: Eye of the beholder, dungeon master, lands of lore and Might and Magic series.

-I still dont have much to say about this game but my expactations are high. You start by making 4 heroes well actually prisoners and you fight throught the dungeon trying to get out. You will meet traps, puzzles, monsters and cool loot. There are several different character classes like humans, minotaurs, insects, etc.

-If you are interested in preordering it costs 11.90 dollars , after that price is set to 14,99 dollars. You can buy it from their own website (link above) or GOG (good old games). Buying it from their website gives you a steam key and an installer.

Risen 2

-If you like Gothic series ( not arcana gothic tale) and enjoyed Risen 1 this might be a good choice for you. Thou this time the game game seems to revolve around pirating and faring between islands with all the familiar action RPG open world adventures of the previous ones.

-I hope this will be a good game thou I fear it might ("might") be riddled with buggs like all the previous games they made. They were good but buggs like insanely dense fogg or strange sun glare that both prevent you from seeing in Risen 1 were anoying. Also lot of glitches and oddities along with crashing. Risen 1 was a good game but I hope they wont make this as hastily as all their previous games.

-Action open world RPG game where you have three other group members that you can command. The game has unique system for hiring other players npc characters for your team, sounds very interesting for as much as I have seen in the videos. Once again in this game you are the chosen one who is in search for a dragon that took his hearth out.

-Fighting in this game sounds interesting as you can climb and hang in huge enemies. They promise that this game would be easy for even those new to action games. You can even just back the whole fight and let your minions do your bidding.

-This game seem really cool and fresh. I just hope it's not the hype but Im eager to see what this game is about.

Hiya!

In the last week I have played a lot of rogue likes and other dungeon crawlies and the like.
Now I will share my knowledge and feelings about those games.

Dungeons of Dredmor

Rogue like with very nifty graphics and querky humor. ( Dwarven plastic armor )
Had lots of fun with this one, also got the realm of the diggle gods expansion.

-You can be a male or a female character and pick 7 skills from a table full of skills.
Few funny skills are there too like pirate, emomancy and werediggle ( diggles are these anoying penguin like creatures one of them dead in the pic ).
Skills include many crafting skills along with the normal fighting and spell caster skills.

-You adventure the dungeon through various levels collecting items, quest, curses and the what not's from other rogue likes. Even found the cooking pot helm from the monkey island games.
There are even doom levels in the game, meaning that the textures match the ones in Doom.

-There are minor side quests collecting and other random stuff to do but you main quest is to kill lord dredmore, have fun trying =D

Overal: Great fun in few hour sessions, humor gets old fast but it doesnt matter. Awesome graphics compared to others fo the same kind. Sound are good some are a bit anoying because you hear them constantly but thats a minor issue. Lots of fun to be had I recomend for everyone, it doenst even cost that much on steam so go get it!

Doom Roguelike

Freeware Game !
This roguelike takes its style form doom

-Action is vary fast based and involves mainly shooting. The game feels pretty much exactly like doom you can take pretty much as much hits and even the sound and the music are the same. Yes you read right it has music and sounds! You wont get killed as often as in other roguelikes so that might be a plus for some.

-In the beginning you can choose from 3 different character classes and pick on skill to start with. You will get more or level them up as you go on.

-Levels are dark corridory doomlike mazes that hide enemies in every corner. Sometimes you find blood arena survival ground that pit you against waves of enemies. After defeating a wave you get nice rewards.

Overal: Great free game to be playd when you have few minutes of time and dont want to think too much.

Dark Souls

Played solo this game is one of the hardest games I have played since nintendo 8-bit times.
A grim fantasy dungeon crawly set in the world of the cursed undead, and you are one of the dead.
Previous games: Demon Souls, Kings Field 1-4

-As RPG element go this game offers more then any other RPG in a loooong time. Im letting this image explaing:

-You start the game by making a character sex, face,hair, etc. starting items and the starting class.
So far I have played with a cleric and a thief. You can develope your character freely in anyway this just gives you the base.

-After the tutorial area the game features HUGE open world to explore. Thou some pplaces at start are so hard you just keep dying, thou running and grapping some ground loot is recomended.

-In this game your currency and experience are the same thing SOULS. If you die your souls are dropped if you die before you get to them they are lost. Spent souls cant be lost, meaning you cant go down levels. Other important thing is humanity that is also lost on death. It can convert you back to human with many benefits.

-Combat happens in real time action that requires a lot of skill, precision and timing. Much like assassins creed and other action games.

-Playing this game offline or online changes everything. Bosses are alot easier with a friend by your side but you are prone the be invaded by other players in time to time. Reward for winning the pvp ( invasion ) are great lots of souls and humanity. In invasion the opponent players appear in red but few moments they appear you will get a short warning of an incoming enemy. Just to be clear invasion is not a game mode other players can invade you game at anytime and attack you when you are human.

Been playing a lot of mass effect 3 lately, big fan of mass effect and Bioware games. Have three character since ME1 pure paragon, pure renegade and neutral Fem Shephard.

Now that I got Remnants out for a test Im taking a few days off.
I'll continue work on Remnants again next week =)

Mean while I'll be painting, playing Dark Souls and perhaps some League Of Legends too.

I have been hard at work on the possible test version I'm going to release for you guys this month.
The version will still miss lots of things from the final version, but I'm tryin to atleast give you a version thats worth testing =)

It shouldn't have many buggs or other strange thingys, but it will be lacking loads of animations as I consider those things to be one of the last things to do.

Main things to do before test version are:
-Finish the improved armor and effect generation system
-Add more locations
-Improve the summon and ally engine
-Add few new enemies
-Some random minor stuff: items, objects, skills, spells, bugg fixes, etc...
