Put some time into getting the basic resource and manufacturing flow from colonies to the construction of ships. Its almost where I want it. Also the video incudes colony priority setting also.
I've been coding for months and finally got some time to finish off more art so I thought I'd put up a quick gif :). Added some shuttles and things on top of some effects, and more work on buildings to spruce up the surface view.
Also big dev log coming.

More progress on colonies. Now you can colonize moons and also set up small bases with some specific purpose with a tiny population to run them. Usually needs support from another colony(s) though. For things like food.
Also populations are separated by species on a colony with a total number also. UI changes have also been made to account for it. Minerals are also separated from other things found on the planet.
Note the planet in the horizon of the moon surface view there is actually the planet the ship is at which can be seen behind the window.
Dev log 6 part 1 is a few days away now. I apologize for taking so long with updates, the game has become more complicated than I imagined... which is really a good thing in the end. There will be more depth.
I had to change back to the mostly 3d surfaces. Turns out the 2d method takes much longer, and I just couldn't get it to fit the rest of the game. 3d is also better for the procedural generation. This way also allows for some fancier effects and traffic etc on planets which i will add a bit later on.
I am also finalizing the planetary UI. Don't mind some of the empty space, its mean't for some of the functions yet to be completed.
The minerals and stored window can be minimized now from the main planet window. So you don't end up having to squint or be slapped in the face with a spread sheet every time you click on a planet... unless you want to :).
NB: Even ships can be stored on planets.

Working towards some proper gameplay footage and completing the main gameplay loop. Also got some art and ships done. The above are Kabrian frigates.
A lot of coding was done linking colony aspects to the factions/players. Income, science, capability of planets and so on.
Also attempting to finalize the UI, once and for all. Its more tricky than I thought to get the right fit.
Feedback more than welcome :).
When colonizing multiple ships can be used. Population in actual numbers is gathered and sent on the ships with a colony module in the fleet.
