im asuming those lines are where the actual edges of the model are. Well, the back part has WAY too many polygons. You could prolly cut off about 100 polys by optimizing that back part

I know that... But mods are generally "what would of happened IF" and your "IF" for blue path is "IF he chose to accept gmans offer, which is hl2" So, thats why i say its hl2. And yes, gordon was in stasis for 20 years, gman was waiting for the right time.

2nd, for red part, there is no way you could escape that. Unless there is a trapped door that drops you into some sort of armory. You cant fight the aliens, cause you have no weapons. And the room you appear in has no close way to get out. the IF could be IF you chose the red path, but then they didn't kill you. Like if THEY thought you were their messaiah. Or if they just knocked you unconcious, and you woke up in some sort of zeninian prison.

just so you know, path "blue" is HL2. Gman puts him in stasis at the end of hl1 and takes him out again for hl2. And path "red", you are in front of many many aliens, with no weapon. Its pretty clear what happens. Btw, you dont have to explain what happened at the end of hl1 in your mod description, since that has nothing to do with the mod. And I would focus on doing one path at a time. Anyway, you asked for opinions on storyline, there is no storyline yet....

I believe you should modify the mercship so it looks even more armored and powerful. right now, at first glance, they look pretty much the same. The small details are different, but the small details dont make something look great, its the big obvious things that do.

looks good, but his head is a little disproportional. his eyes are a little high / the top of his head is low. since helmets add lots of extra space to the top, if you just raise up the top a little he will look a lot more realistic. also, his ankles look thin. Other than that, awesome!

im a mapper and a moddeler, and love the thief games. I'd help, but theif: deadly shadows isnt that old, so I dont see what kind of benefit remaking the game would be.

Maybe if it was made in a modern setting? Still can have ropes, knifes, poisons, projectiles, etc. And, the "i shouldnt be here" feeling would be even more extreme if it looked like a real place...
