Congratulations! Eagerly awaiting this. Itching to get back into some classic HL action.

Looks interesting. Hope to see this released one day.
I like what you're going for here with the low-def but efficient design, there's just something about this Goldsource aesthetic that creates a great atmosphere. Good use of lighting and shadows here certainly contributes to this as well.
The general space can always succeed to succeed. He is very deceitful.
Nice. Animations look professional grade, models are pretty slick as well.
I'd love to see some more Half-Life stuff from you, but I totally get what you mean with priorities - I've been meaning to finish and release something myself but can never get around to it, and that's even with a lot of spare time on my hands. Makes it even more impressive that people are able to push out things like this mod while having work and other everyday obligations on their minds. Really inspiring!
Nice take on the classic Half-Life tram. Very clean and stylish.
I've written a rather lengthy review of this mod, if anyone's interested: Pastebin.com
I had the same problem. They would also sometimes get stuck at the bottom and I wouldn't be able to move them at all. Ended up just noclipping past this part.
I haven't played it myself yet but from what I've seen and heard so far I have to agree, Lost Alpha seems like a major disappointment. Even if they eventually fix the most glaring issues like bugs, the empty world, and unbalanced gameplay, we're probably still going to be stuck with the horribly out of place cutscenes and silly storyline, completely ruining what was one of Shadow of Chernobyl's strongest points, the atmosphere and arguably, story. Such a shame, I was looking forward to the mod as well.
Bring on 0693!
Looking forward to the new release. 0692 was the best mod I've yet to play for Shadow of Chernobyl for sure.
I've asked this before and got an answer that it was possible and to google it, but I didn't manage to find any solution and am such a novice to Stalker modding that I'm not able to figure out how to do it myself. That is, will you add an option for re-enabling the ambient music from the original game? I felt like that really was the only thing missing from the last release. I understand if you prefer to have it off by default as a design choice, but if people want to play with it on I can't see how it would hurt to have it as an option (like the "action" music in Clear Sky being toggleable). Or maybe just point me to somewhere that explains how to re-enable the music in mods.
Indeed, and slap on some 45 degree angles or a curved corner here and there for maximum profit ;p
Whew, looking real good, this! Certainly can't tell from the screenshots that you hadn't mapped for some time.
For the next version, will you add an option to enable the in-game music again? It's one of the things I really missed on my last playthrough of this mod, the soundtrack did so much for the atmosphere in the original game.
Only mod for any game I'm looking forward to right now...
Long live STALKER!
No problem, glad people find it useful.
Niice! Man, I'm loving this rendering engine, amazing stuff. Mapping looks really good as well!
I think the media we've seen of the mod so far speaks for itself, and says more about the team's abilities than words alone ever could.
Good luck again to everyone involved, really looking forward to playing!
Very nice! The texturing on those ventilation ducts is looking slightly off, but other than that, excellent. You've got the mapping skills! Gotta love those shadows/lighting too.
Just noticed you mentioned this in a previous news post - bummer.
One of the best mods I've ever had the pleasure of playing, Source or otherwise. Amazing job team.
A bug report though - I have a fairly strong rig and rarely, if ever dipped under 100fps during my playthrough and was mostly in the 200-300fps+ range (with all settings on max), but at the very last section (the teleport to Xen) I would get insane fps drops if looking at the teleport ball, like in the <10-20fps range.
This is one of the most promising Goldsource mods currently in progress and certainly one of the best-looking mods ever, released or not. The mapping reminds me of the almost decade old mod Nightwatch, which had some of the most impressive mapping I've ever seen, and the Trinity engine also seems to be used to great effect, very atmospheric shots. Great to see it used well for something other than Half-Life "HD mods".
By the way, do you (Trempler or anyone else) know if the recent-ish update broke the old versions of Trinity? I've had the last version (v3.08f) sitting on my pc since it was still open source, but unfortunately haven't been able to use it much until now due to stuff, and was looking forward to finally giving it a proper go (assuming the author is even okay with other people still using it?), only to find out that shadow maps don't work at all anymore. I doubt it's my pc as I have a pretty powerful rig.
Turns out my review wasn't censored after all and simply ended up filtered as spam or something. Thanks to Phillip for clarifying.
I played this a year or so ago, and all I can remember are the ridiculous jumps in the Xen parts as well as an instant death trap near the beginning that came completely without warning, and as such was unavoidable unless you happened to know about it beforehand.
As it was a wholly frustrating and rather bland experience, I wrote a negative review on Planetphillip, but it was never approved - probably due to a combination of me disagreeing with everyone else there as well as some rather mild cursing. Gotta love censorship.
Don't get too discouraged though, if you had gotten some more people to playtest this thing it could have actually been a decent little map. Something to keep in mind for future maps.
Whoa, impressive mapping! Great use of lighting too, very atmospheric. Guess I gotta check out Fight for Life 1 as well now!
This reminds me of Deus Ex for some reason...
