Hey there! I'm Shadow, involved into Unreal-Engine Editing (Coding/Mapping) since 1999. My first attempts were small singleplayer Maps for both Unreal and UT which were never to be released (to n00bish..). While mapping and improving over the time I got heavily influenced by Sci-Fi series and Fantasy stuff in matter of build and architecture. In the year 2002/2003 I initiated a small SP-Campaign which will later be known as the Total Conversion "Lost Secrets of Na Pali" (short: LSoNP). It was cancelled in 2006 and now I'm working on a Development Kit basing on the features LSoNP brought to the Unreal-Engine 1. So much for the Nerd-Stuff. If you want to know more about me, don't hesitate to visit my myspace.

Great model, really. "Lowpoly" - haha yet for us Unreal-Veterans this is some top notch poly quality ;)
Keep up the good work!

Thank you so much! It was a hellish ride with a lot of sleep deprivation and nightmares to get these features going haha.

While Beta Q4/23 does bring a lot more possibilites and stability it is far from finished. Yet it will flourish more and more with each release. And I won't abandon it again like I did back in 2014+.

Hey hey, Unreal Gold has that great Unreal 227 Patch at your fingertips ;)

I see no need to create an additional "Unreal SDK" for Unreal Gold too

There dont exist any mobile ports of Unreal Tournament, and I dont intend to develop such a port too. Sorry.

Yo, thank you for your feedback.

The Extension Pack is totally obsolete and outdated now. Unreal Script just limited the potential of this project. I know that the recent iteration of the SDK lacks once implemented features, but this is only due to the fact that I updated my code basis to modern data management approaches. Features of the Extension Pack get reintegrated with each Quarter Release, step by step.

I simply prefer the UT 469 Builds for their stability, advanced features and bug fixes. And after all, its called UT SDK, not Harry Potter SDK. Its primarily meant for Unreal Tournament.

And why would I use outdated and unofficial UE 1/UE 2 builds whatsoever, when the UT 469 builds are far more formidable, updated and maintained platforms? We all want stable releases, and I cant provide that with unofficial code bases. Other than that I got resentments with Epic in the past and dont intend to get any more in the present or future.

Nevertheless I keep your statement in mind, and can understand you to some degree.

Not ranting, just saying how it is. You misunderstood me. I really want to use 469c as a code basis and I appreciate all their work and effort.

I'm just really having a hard time trying to do so. I was communicating these issues already in the past per E-Mail, and was said to wait for the Source SDK. Also I had opened a bug case at github in the past. You're admitting yourself that its difficult natively too, but blaming me I'm ranting against 469 and not communicating with them? You didnt know about the E-Mail comm and the github case. These problems are my problems, I'm NOT passing the bucket to the 469 team. I'm sorry if you took that the wrong way (or someone else).

AGAIN: I want AND appreciate 469 as standard code base. Didnt I make that clear with at least the last sentence "to analyse problems with UT 469c way better"? At which part was I ranting against 469? I'm glad this patch exists. I just have major difficulties porting my engine to 469 and expressed that. I didnt say "469 is complete garbage". I would never do that.

Thank you for your kind words :)

Still on track for that release date, last week before the release will be completely reserved for testing and then... I seriously do need a break and some time off from programming, I was programming 2 years straight 6 days a week

Hey hey, this time most of the progress is right on schedule, I'm currently compiling (with UT 469c Headers), and testing the features intended for this release next week. But please keep in mind that this is a complete new release period, where features get implemented update after update.

So the first new release wont have THAT much of new stuff right from the start. Its focussed on a stable release of the new component system and scene interface framework with static meshes being the exemplary prototype feature.

It might be possible that (in depth) documentation will be delivered afterwards in March though.

Hey there.

People playing your content extended with the SDK will require them to have at least the essential driver and asset files to be installed. They're not that big in sum, old builds were about 50 mb in size or something. New builds will be about +75 mb I think.

Using the Mylevel-Feature is only recommended for assets, not the driver files.

Hey hey! Nice to see you guys are still interested :)
I'm working almost everyday on this project since 02/2021. The coming release will be the biggest yet and is highly inspired by Unreal Engine 4 & 5. Stay tuned!

Whaaa, wait what. I was surprised that 1st July was set as next release date as I'm aiming for a Q3/Q4 2022 release. Sorry for that misunderstanding.

The gifted coder .:..: (Dots) did a great PhysX plugin. But I'm not sure if his plugin supported ragdoll physics. I wont say it's impossible, but I'm currently focussing on polishing, graphics, memory management, and internal editor tools. I will definitly keep in mind extended physics and ragdoll physics, afterall ut99 has skeletal model support already.

Its sometimes not easy to plan for this project, but there'll be a definite release this year. You know, getting a proper, reliable release done still requires some time.

However, you can follow its recent development at ut99.org

You probs would want to use the mod OldSkool, it's a small powerful mod designed to run singleplayer maps. Check this one out, then play this map.

Yessi yes! Thank you very much :)

However, I have huge problems adapting my legacy code of the previous release to the new 469a Patch, which is the main reason for the recent delays. Hope to release a fresh version at the end of March. Been rebuilding the 3D pipeline currently.

Hey jdzero! Thank you for asking. Yes I'm still working on it as I need it as a framework for a new total conversion mod and an Unreal Engine 4 game I'm developing, backed up by a small team. End of december will be the first release in like 7 years..

Greetings and thank you.

Hmm I thought about coding an "external" Editor but that would be one hell of an effort.. so I'll stick with in-Editor enhancements. What do you mean with the UT3 part?

They're many documents in the download file. First read those that deal with the setup and installation instructions. Once it is set up you decide for yourself what to use and what not. It's not like a mutator that instantly changes everything. It's a toolset.

I must admit that the installation is quite a bit difficult, but this will have an end with the august build, because it uses a setup file and auto-ini entries.

Yes it is possible to build a mod with this that runs seperately from UT, would be just depending on the core ut files.. and which assets you use.

AFTER a fresh reinstall the BugTrap still shows the following error loading the game:

"Expression : assertion failed
Function : CLocatorAPI::ProcessArchive
File : LocatorAPI.cpp
Line : 337
Description : hdr"

"XR_3DA.exe caused BREAKPOINT in module "F:\Games\Stalker\Lost Alpha\bins\xrCore.dll" at 0023:64484178, xrDebug::backend()+168 byte(s)"

I ask again: Wtf is this ****? I did try the hints stated in the box at the upper left corner here.. doesn't work either.

Game doesn't even start, stops loading and shows the bugtrap with the following message:

"Expression : assertion failed

Description : hdr"

XR_3DA.exe caused BREAKPOINT in module "F:\Games\Stalker\Lost Alpha\bins\xrCore.dll" at 0023:6FD84178, xrDebug::backend()+168 byte(s)
What's wrong here?
