*this monolithic structure is termed "the ring world". It's made up from materials and has the total size of several planets combined. The two luminous areas are mega devices called the "Star Arresters". They work to keep the star in a fixed destabilized state where the Ring World can harvest the pure energy directly from the star to power the forges and shipyards that work to supply the endless fleets of the Eternal Empire!

Stellaris is absolutely fantastic for the visuals and effects. I have a crappy monitor and already get great graphics. I can only wonder how such a game would look on a full HD screen...
