Got sources?
Well, ain't that what a boycott is about in the first place?
They're just grouping up to show that there are many that think this way.
Isn't it against the EULA to use third party editors/content/whatever?
And if that's case, does the use of this program violate it?
Think EA want to uphold an monopoly so they can pump out 1001 expansion packs, as with the Sims.
In other words, good work!
We don't like that ModDB acts as a recruiting station for an army.
And you tell us to focus on the winners. The winners are barely mentioned, the newspost is about the US air force.
And I think many of us were against events of this kind getting sponsored by military organisations long before this post was written...
And even if the newspost was about the MOTY and not about the sponsors, why should we shut up about the sponsors? You shouldn't always do what you're told...
Came to my mind as well. Feels like I'm promoting war when posting here nowdays...
Woah! 800'000?
Sounds unbelievable, thought the death toll was far lower.
Got sources? :)
I do not want to say anything about US foreign politics but I'm critical to the involvement of any politically connected organisation, especially a military one.
How would you guys feel if Hamas sponsored ModDB instead?
At least I would think it was outrageous. And I guess the ModDB crew wouldn't accept that.
But then they shouldn't allow sponsorship from any side and stay politically neutral. Not everyone likes the USAF. (Which is quite obvious judging by the comments.)
Advertising is always used to colour our opinion and to affect our actions, that's the idea of advertising.
But when military organisations start to advertise it becomes propaganda.
On another (closely related) topic, I get the feeling that this whole post is a big advert for the USAF, by the way.
Not any useful info about the awards and half the post is about the USAF.
And you who think it's OK that an army advertise here because most games/mods are about killing: at least for me the step from killing artificial figures in games and killing a real, living human is kilometres long.
Now that's scary!
I'm not going to play Empires any more, will only feel like I'm training people to kill other people for real...
I also find it hard to believe that someone has 250+ games...
50 games over here. I share the collection with my two brothers.
Since all games are licensed, not sold, do we really own any of our games? :p
Haha, link of the year! :)
Nice to see that the mod still lives!
But shouldn't you be heading for a Battlefield 2 version by now?
Heh, looks like something worth trying out.
Will the animals walk around and run away when being hit by explosives and stuff?
Also, I hope you guys take gameplay seriously.
I've seen far too many "fun weapons"-mods that haven't attracted any public because there wasn't anything new except for new, unbalanced weapons.
Best of luck, especially with the gameplay!
I don't think so. But you could install metamod plugins such as Amx mod X and Entmod and "cheat" on both single- and multiplayer servers as long as you're the host.
Not that players would appreciate that, tho... ;)
And by the way, installing those ain't a walk in the park.
Ah, nice! Think I'll actually bother to visit the voting booth this year... :P
Woo! Can't wait!
Anyhow: You should remake the GUI, this mod bears so little resemblance to half-life that the GUI feels like an old stain.
Agreeing with the other two posts, not many people write centered, the font's hard to read, looks crude and not reassembling handwriting at all.
And the pen's ugly.
Also, at least I ain't interested in reading loads of pages of text in an FPS.
Haha, weird mod! Gotta track!
Just don't let it die! :)
Can't wait! Looks like the best single player mod ever, not only for source!
Well, a manual costs paper, ink, metal and the process of writing and printing it.
And considering that the rest of the items are a plastic box, a plastic disc and a paper cover disc, in the long run, you'd get a non-neglectable fee.
On the other hand, the effort put into the game to be competent enough without a manual might cost a lot more...
The Half-Life series has done well, the games only include a small sheet of paper, the rest is learned in-game.
(Ok, Since the HL series are FPS games they don't need to use so many keys, but still, no Gravity Gun instructions.)
But I have to say, I agree on that some people don't have general computer knowledge and might need the manuals.
Where's the "manuals and forums are for twats" option? ;P
Yep, you guys too much green in the color correction.
If you do not bother to compile your maps, why should anyone else?
It is simpler not to release.
Also, you provide the source code, but is it under the public domain and with what license?
Sorry to say, I don't see you collection of scripts and maps as a mod.
This should have been uploaded on addondb instead.
Also, I think you should practice more on your mapping before uploading anything.
And skip the leet-speak. Nobody likes that kind of lingo anymore.
Often, I don't get people who flame their ***** of. This time I don't get those who protect this.
Revolutionized both the FPS and the mod scene!
Half-Life's one of the greatest games ever, (only beaten by Half-Life 2) but the time I've spent playing its mods is far greater than the time I've spent with the game itself.
Which reminds me, I've yet to finish it!
The list was great, except that I wouldn't have put ESF and TH there.
And Entmod (a plugin-minimod, prequel of Garrys Mod) would've been my number one. Any old enters here?
If the main character isn't Chell, why's the name of the mod "Chell's Legend"?
Doesn't matter. If they are unfinished they shouldn't be released to the public, a smaller group of beta testers would be better.
At least I think there is no use in publishing beta maps in these packs.
It's enough that half the servers out there play them. Beta is beta!
Doesn't seem like an all too serious mod. Nothing wrong with that but Moddb has seen far too many bunch-of-cool-stuff-thrown-together-mods over the years, in my opinion. Don't end up there, no one will play the mods if you do.
Also, those textures are horrific.
To give this comment a little less negativity: Good luck.

Really, my name shows up here? joined
Look, it's my bio! Feel free to say hello! :)
