We have not released Imperial Winter yet. There is a three year old initial port still available but we no longer support it and even if it is still compatible with today's Spring engine version the models look like crap.

But if you're playing 1.0 in the meantime, use construction droids from the barracks. They build the other factories.

Yeah, that map just has very light shadows. Look in the water on the screenshot with the sandbags and such--you can see a group of republic gunships heading towards my base in the reflection. You can also see the shadows if your contrast is high enough, but I don't blame you if you can't see it because of the map.

Spring is stand alone and free, yes. It can be downloaded at Taspring.clan-sy.com . This is a mod for that game; the interface for using mods in the multiplayer lobby is very simple to use. We may be including AI profiles for the work in progress AIs for Spring, but it's not high on our priority list since they're not very advanced yet.
