Background code development started last year, with some prototypes for AI movement etc. UI framework has been built upon and actual development of the rest of the game started about 3-4 months ago.

Worth noting we are currently between ideas that could increase the scope of the project and push the release date into early 2016.

Faced is partially correct. There will be 2 modes in total (to begin with). The first will allow players to select another player, and then begin a battle. They can then choose which units to use and the battle will begin whilst you spectate as displayed in the most recent video we posted of the battle system.

The second mode will be like Halo Wars, with a player starting a mission which has predefined units, or specific ones. On start, it will open up a Unity Player which has an RTS environment.

The upcoming testing will be for the former type of battle system, and in addition currently (until testing is underway) - ALL units go to battle, not just a selection.

That sounds good - however currently that wouldn't necessarily work with our autoresolve battle system - but it could be a good integration in the future - we have similar ideas in the works.

And it already works like that for units, that if you buy a rocket launcher for ODST all ODSTs can use it. But it wouldn't necessarily be OP ;)

Sorry for the delay - In reply to both your comments. Purchasing units is based off individual units. Each unit is unique. In this game, purchasing 1 unit is literally 1 soldier or vehicle etc. As such upgrades are unique to that soldier, who has a UNSC Service Tag, as well as a name that corresponds! However when a weapon is purchased it is purchased for all units that can use it. For example buying an ODST might cost 1000req but a Battle Rifle might cost 5000req. However once bought, it can be used for free for all ODSTS :)..

As for armour customisation I will definitely look into it as something once we have all the current features done ;D
