Exactly. Just like DotA. Unlike DotA though, their forces simply look alike.

Unfortunately no. Installing GZH places something on the registry so it isn't like Warcraft or Starcraft which you can simply copy on an external HDD and play it from there.
That got me thinking... How do you indeed play GZH-ROTR on a tablet?
If any of you could... You da real MVP.
Wait, so the stars that appear under the Overlord tanks when massed together are due to propaganda not horde bonus? I thought almost all Chinese units in ROTR benefit from horde bonus? Oh, wait, yeah, I stand corrected. So the stars just provide propaganda bonus for the overlords and horde bonus for any battlemasters surrounding them, is that correct?
I love China's defense strategy. two bunkers (filled with tank hunters), three gattling cannons ( two on each side and one in the middle of the bunkers), three nuke cannons behind the bunkers and four heavy aa surrounding them.
When in numbers, the Chinese Overlords may dominate due to their mass bonus (of course, with the upgrades such as nationality, uranium shells and nuclear reactor). And while multiple sentinels may pack a lot of punch, their slow speeds won't allow them all to fire at the same time.
Why not let the developers do their work in creating the campaigns? So far they've done a lot of great things in ROTR. If you want to push your suggested campaigns you should just start your own mod.
Cost of production and upgrades for the enemy faction becomes more expensive.
Not really sure I agree with that. I can do 5 minute games with a brutal enemy on 1v1 maps, and can build enough forces to match whatever they got to dish out in large maps. Sure, they're quick (a lot quicker than that of the original ZH game), but they are still manageable depending on how fast you can click and move your mouse.
Wow! Whoever was being targeted must be like "Public Enemy No. 1" ... This is overkill raised to 100! Cool!
Accuracy dude? Have you seen how big-*** the AoE of the Pandora's attack is? Even if the warhead didn't hit your designated target, units around it (the size of the Kremlin compound) would never survive the explosion.
By the way, the address I gave is for stand-alone Generals and Zero Hour installations.
Instead of using the launcher, try the main .exe files of ROTR (ROTR.exe or ROTR_Quick.exe) by going to this folder: C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Command & Conquer Generals Zero Hour
*This is the address for the Windows 7 O.S., it's pretty much the same for Windows 8 unless you're using a 64-bit version.
Open up an explorer page by doing a search for the word "Explorer" or simply click on "Computer".
I haven't tried doing this since I don't have a Windows 8, but try if it's only the launcher that's having a problem.
Just wait for it. Patience is a virtue commander.
That is the reality of the world as we know it, and it is simply reflected in the game's lore. Throughout history, countries became superpowers because they took their nationalist and imperialist ideals and forced them upon others. Weapons development has since then become a vital part of a country's system, as evidenced by how each of the factions in ROTR have developed their own technologies to combat the others.
Not necessarily. Based on the in-game lore, Russia's tense relations with China may mean that they do not have the same ideologies. In addition to this, the Russian invasion of Europe was not premised by the fact that they wanted to spread communism, but rather they needed to channel the anger of their own peoples away from the leadership.
You'ld have to copy the textures, w3d models, audio and ini files from the shw.big folders to rotr.big folders. Then you need to add the command buttons, command sets and the corresponding ini file for the object you want to add. So far, the only thing I've successfully copied is the phalanx ciws... and I managed to make it attack ground units! ^^
it should work, because i managed to remove all the techtree requirements for those units that require generals powers using the ini files. i was even able to add some units from shockwave into rotr using the ini.big.
Looks like there hasn't been any updates for quite a while.
Ooohhh.. War is brewing indeed... Both in the east and the west.
ROTR has the best storyline of all the GZH mods I've played... You guys must be novelists! Can't wait for the campaigns... ^_^ More power to you guys.
This is cool! I always wanted Brazil as a faction in Generals!
Please disregard this. I found it. Thanks.
Does Rise of the Reds have its own .csf file?
MARS, what do you use for editing skins in the mod? I've downloaded gmax and renx but they both ask me to register - when I do click on the link, the page is empty.
Hi devs, just noticed something regarding the field promotion ability of the European commander - is it specific only to ECA and GLA units? I captured a USA, Russian, and Chinese base but the field promotion ability doesn't seem to work on their units.
