My dude! I'm so glad you're still working on this. I wanted to ask your help. I'm trying to build a co-op mod to make this game a little more challenging in Gameranger campaign play.
I'm stuck trying to get the AI to use new secondary abilities I've added (I suspect this isn't possible at all), but I've got a few other questions too. Think we could chat? seth dot dickinson at gmail
Where's this skybox from?
Download and install OpenAL, you can find it by googling.
The multiplayer package is released, go grab it on Hard Light Productions (there's a BP Multi forum somewhere).
The WiH voice acting package is a ways out, you may not want to wait for it.
God I love that intro movie SO MUCH
aaargh god, I tried to plusvote your command and downvoted it instead. I am so dumb. Anyway, thank you very much, we really do appreciate this feedback.
I don't recall you being involved as a tester in Blue Planet.
Glad you liked it! Yes, Sam and his father should retain their actors in future appearances (they had a cameo at the end of WiH R1).
Yes, there will be one more BP after WiH.
It might take a little work to get set up. Post on HLP if you need any help.
Hello Lambda, sorry for the delay.
There was at one time a special glide feature pack for AoA. See if you can track it down on hard light.
Glad you enjoyed it!
It should probably be noted that that screenshot is from Homeworld Blue Planet - the FSO engine still doesn't have self-shadowing like that.
There will be an atmospheric mission or two in R2, kind of like the moon mission in R1.
The problem is that much (but not all) of it is copyrighted material which we only use under Fair Use - we'd prefer not to distribute copyrighted material.
I know there's a survival mode working and testers have been playing with it.
Hello - not sure if you ever got a reply to this: yes, Blue Planet will work perfectly fine on Mac, just use Mac builds of FreeSpace Open.
Don't put yourself down, Vid! Fortune Hunters stands proud.
You can join Hard Light and hang out with Matth on IRC any time you like. He's definitely working on it, we talk every day.
Glad you liked it. We're working on voice acting, and the next release is moving along steadily.
Thank you for your kind words!
If you'd like to get involved in voice acting, would it be practical to sign up a Hard Light Productions account and post there? That's the easiest way for us to manage our actors.
This was a lot of fun. However I've played through all the scenarios listed on the main page on Professional. Is there anything else?
The mod looked great but it wasn't very challenging. I found that in every single scenario the best thing to do was to set Vipers to guard, wait for the enemy Raiders to attack, kill them, then nuke the base ships. This produced a win with basically no losses in every case.
You do know voice acting is underway, right? The first BP didn't get voices until several years after its release. BP2 should be faster.
How do I switch from Crysis to Wars if I already have it installed on Crysis? I have Crysis Wars.
You should definitely play FreeSpace 2 first (FreeSpace 1 is not...really necessary, and not quite as good.) Just grab a copy from GoodOldGames ($6 and DRM-free), install FreeSpace Open, and give it a whirl. If you need any help getting things set up, just post here or on Hard Light, we'll walk you through it.
Thanks for your interest!
Try moving your FreeSpace 2 install to C:\Games\FreeSpace2. Any luck?
If not you can do a manual install by the instructions on the forum - but I believe the Installer should work. Sign up and HLP account and we can give you further help there.
(It's worth it!)
The engine is open-source. Visit Hard Light Productions or google 'FreeSpace SCP.' SAFSO is hardly the first to use it.
The music is present in the VP files you have in your blueplanet and blueplanet2 folders. You can extract it with Maja or VPView, and remember to look at the credits to see where we got it!
