ZeldaTC mod is made specificly for GZDoom 3.7.2 that is packed with the download. If you run it using a completely diffrent version and without using the supplied ZeldaTC.ini it will not run or look as intended.

For the intended experiance:
Extract archive and run the supplied "Run ZeldaTC.bat".

Thank you for the kind words mate!
I uploaded it so that it would not be another "lost mod" just an unfinished one. I wanted to rid myself of any stress involved with the project. By telling people that it's likely it will never be updated and do what you will with the files have made it more fun to work with it for some reason. So i've added voxel 3D graphics and VR support xD

Hey there. To access the project resources all you need to do is open the "Zelda-WIP.pk3" that is located in the game/external folder with an archive program (for example WinRar wich i use) and extract the data.
However if you wanna have a go at modifying it i recommend Slade. It's a program that alot of people use to modify things related to Doom :)

Thanks mate. I used an emulator to extract most stuff from the original rom. For certain monsters and flying swords i had to make my own graphics :)
If i get back to it i'll probably do a regular Doom version of the map when it's bigger.

You need the "doom.wad" file from the full version of doom to use the mod. It will not work with the file from the shareware verion sadly.

If you want to access the graphics, sound and such then they are located within the pk3 file in the game/external folder.
There are several programs out there to open these files up and extract the content.

That sounds like a great idea to me. For now there seems to be alot of intrest in the idea. There was even an article about this mod xD

Now i have not researched how to deal with the GZDoom engine in three years. But i used ACS (Action Code Script) and Decorate back then. Using a script langue is alot easier than programing. There is alot of info and tutorials out there on how to deal with it.

So if you're up for it give it a go ;)

As of right now, yes. But i cannot guarantee that it will in the future when it's released. I'll try to keep it compatible with ZDoom for as long as possible ;P

It will take a long time. Can't even give an estimate mate. But we're talking at least a year.
Actually, level design is pretty straight forward since the original Zelda had a grid. We simply follow this grid when remaking the game in the doom map editor (Really, the Doom engine is perfect for this). The coding is a hard nut to crack though. I'm one out of two developers looking into this and i haven't got that much time during the summer to do so. Might even say that it is kinda "stand-still".

Thanks man! Well, progress is really slow since the weather over here in Sweden is glorious right now. I spend most of my time riding my bike. My mapper spends most of his time with his Mustang. Once it starts to get cold again our progress will speed up again. But do keep it in mind that a release will take a looong time. Don't get your hype up to much just yet mate ;D
