Looking forward to your mod!~
What? If that's what someone chooses to do, why would you gatekeep it?
Thanks! Do you think you'll be working on the mod anymore in the future?
Thanks for letting us know! Looking forward to the release!
Frankly, I'm perfectly fine with separating history from gameplay. Furthermore, I'm very grateful to you for having created this mod for us to enjoy. However, that being said, may I suggest that even conscript infantry have SOME firearm skill? They were still trained and teppojutsu (the art of the gun) was certainly practiced amongst samurai, so they would've had a degree of competence regarding the reloading and aiming of matchlocks. However, things such as repeating guns, revolvers and artillery were indeed very foreign during the Meiji Restoration and should not have many people experienced with them from the get-go. Though I wonder if it's wise to include those items considering how much stronger they are compared to the rest. Finally, like I said, feel free to do whatever you want with your mod that you deem necessary and/or fun. But I just wanted to point out that most guns in Japan, and around the world for that matter, were still smoothbore at this point. YES, there were rifled guns, however, there was plenty that was not still due to the cost of their manufacture. So please do consider putting in some matchlocks, flintlocks, and other types of guns too :)
nastynaq The Japanese Imperial and Shogunal forces were indeed trained by foreign officers, British and French accordingly. However, I'm not sure where you're citing that they "didn't shoot to kill" they were most certainly trained to shoot at their targets. What records are you referring to? Furthermore, skirmishes are rarely recorded because their very nature tends to make them brief and unpredictable.
articulo34 Both sides did indeed have rifles. However, don't forget the vast majority of troops were still equipped with smoothbore muskets. Line Infantry was indeed trained to aim at an enemy, however, they were not trained as well as skirmishers, they were also not commanded to take evasive maneuvers very frequently. Finally, Japan wasn't a unified country yet so the Shogunal troops were trained by the French and therefore tended to have more emphasis on individual marksmanship, whereas the Imperial troops from Satsuma and Choshu tended to be trained by the British and therefore placed more emphasis on artillery and discipline.
Thank you so much for taking the time and energy to make this mod!
Are you guys still working on any new updates?
Is there any difference between Mk2 and Mk7 Vipers? What about Raptors and Stealth Vipers? And the cylon fighters on the older basestars? Ty for your time/reply
Is there some sort of readme that gives an overview of all the smaller mods? I've been playing sins for a while so I was able to figure out how to load them in the right order and all from your guide, but I"m struggling to find a description of the races, pirates, add-ons etc. or just what each module other than the core and the two new races do precisely. Tyvm for responding, if you do, cause from what I've seen in the comments so far you seem to be an awesome creator. Thanks for making this wonderful mod.
EDIT: also, is there any difference for the mk2 and mk 7 vipers? and the stealth vs raptor bombers?
Could you happen to let me know what submod races you are racing? I'd love to hear about them and possibly try them myself if they're publicly available.
What exactly does this fix or change?
It just means you didn't download the entire file and by the looks of it you've failed nine times in a row, wait until servers are faster or have a friend download it.
Please, can you tell me what this mod actually does? Does it only change faction names? Anything else?
It means a lot to us trackers/watchers when the author actually replies, thank you :)
This does nothing to encourage release, it just annoys people, remember these people are doing all of this out of the kindness of their hearts for our enjoyment and entertainment, we are not entitled to anything and should not act as such.
Taleworld's forum link in the description above.
lol, one that's really very rude. Two, there is a link avalible in the Taleworld's forum. Three, these kind people are doing this for free in their spare time for out enjoyment, they don't owe us anything, so don't act so entitled.
go look up the naruto mod then friend. Do remember that ninjas rarely operated in large units that moved together and operated more like hitmen, they didn't engage in open battle with samurai in the field. They killed them in their sleep, in their homes and on the battlefield, but never in large units moving as one. (please correct me if I'm wrong.)
The only reason I downloaded it was for the Shogun 2 music, as I dislike your battle music, but that's just me. I'm sure others wanted to RP a shogun 2 TW general or enjoy your battle music. It was cool at first, (the music) but it grated on me after a while.
As many other have said, I thank you for all the time and effort you've sunk in to give so many people so much enjoyment in such a historically interesting time period and setting. Also, I've noticed a small bug, or maybe it was just a fluke, but a few times, after a battle, I'll look in my inventory and everything below a certain part of my inventory has disappeared. My 10 packets of rice just flat out vaporized, it's only happened a handful of times, but I figured you'd want to know.
PS I believe it was a battle, a scene change, or a save, I don't quite recall. I'm also using an imported character, if that matters at all. Thanks again for having such a great mod and keeping M&B enjoyable for so many thousands!
Each clan is assigned a color, there are only three different colors, black, red, and ruseet, of course there are small variations but go ahead and look in the module folder, there will be a file called gekokujo units, it's a chart that is very useful, and will also show you the armor colors for each clan. I apologize for my run on sentence.
Lovin' it! Thanks for putting this up man! It's people like you that keep games alive and PC gaming special. I'll keep you updated with any bugs I find! (If there are indeed any bugs XD)
Thank you very much for posting this. It means a lot to us consumers when a mod is reassured of its livelihood, beta or not, I hope you continue to aspire and inspire. Best wishes to your RL and this mod.
