Mod development is on a large hiatus because of situations involving the developers (two main people working on it means that if even one of them can't work on it, productivity is demolished), but we're looking into our options.
The mod's not abandoned, but we certainly need to clean up files before we get back to work on it. Everything is a mess and unstructured.
I tried applying your fix, but it still seems to be crashing. I've recompiled the files for your viewing once more: Mediafire.com
Okay so I was about to edit my last post with this but I just missed the 5 minute mark by 10 seconds, so here's the link to the mission file (which is really incomplete, I was testing it out to see if it would work) and the BattleE.ini
Mediafire.com
I looked over the log file, but I couldn't really figure out what the issue was unfortunately. I've uploaded the contents of the file to pastebin, and it can be found here: Pastebin.com . Unfortunately I reverted Battle(E).ini back to normal when I was fixing my install, but I basically just copied an entry already present and changed it to match what I was working on. I can probably reproduce it rather quickly though, so if it fails again on reproduction, I'll add it here.
How would one go about making custom missions for DtA? I tried doing it, but the game crashed on loading the mission (not to mention the launcher kept telling me the version I had was incompatible with the recent build, but that was likely because I modified BattleE.ini while trying to get the mission to work).
The game is indeed still being worked on, I'm getting close to finishing Demo 6 - just about a few more trainers here and there, then I sent it off for testing and polishing.
I can't give much feedback on modeling, but I can definitely see an improvement over your earliest works. If you keep this up, you'll probably be making great models one day!
Considering that he only started modeling, that's understandable. Unless you were some god of the models when you started - if you even are a modeler - the average person learning to model starts with basic stuff like this.
Eh, I've seen worse models in the community. If anything, it's some form of improvement.
Damn it Speeder, don't make me bring out my Ancient Old mod idea to make a full Space-Based Mod, it was one of my childhood fancies that never got fufilled
Thanks! It's slow, but so long as I have the drive and passion the game will not die, won't allow it.
Yeah that tends to be how it goes, doesn't it. The reason we haven't moved forward at all is because we've reached a huge impasse - What we need right now is graphics, and none of us are skilled enough to tackle graphics (Save for Ichor, who like I said has school). The last thing I want to see is this project, which I believe has potential, die because of my ineptitude.
Yeeeeeeeeep, big save on backups. I had to argue with my friends saying "We need a way to backup files in the off chance Something Very Bad happens", which in this case it did. So it was kinda a saving grace.
The elevation for the Netherworld will be hard to get right, but I wanna try and do something interesting with the map. At the very least, I want to prevent players from having range bonuses due to being stationed above them on the map.
The model was based off the Suika model already present in the mod. There are some subtle differences, but this specific one is to be used for the generic oni unit built by Chireiden.
Bringing Touhou to places is fun, one of the reasons I wanna continue working on this mod
Oh, makes sense then. BHP does great stuff and I verily enjoy playing Reborn and APB (Or would, if my computer could play it)
I thank you for the support, gonna need as much of it as we can get. One thing though, your name looks familiar. I can't quite place my finger on where I've seen it before though.
The ride begins anew.
I shall do my best to try and bring this mod up and beyond expectations, and hope that my team and I can deliver a good product.
I just recently learned that you can get the mod working on Multiplayer if you use CnCNet. Just figured I'd share that for those who wanted to multiplayer.
