Hey! Nice) I'll be contacting you soon!
Hey! Nice) I'll be contacting you soon!
Hi! Thanks for your kind words. Climbing speed on ladders was already increased actually for next alpha update. Not ready to announce it yet have a lot of feedback to work on and a lot of bugs to fix.
Have you tried public alpha does this version works for you? It was tested on Snow Leopard, and seems to work fine.
XBox controller input is not fixed yet(they use weird input mapping there). Mouse is disabled automatically when using controller inputs, maybe try disabling it?
Hey! Seems like you have version 0.61 from Desura (Those let's plays are made with 0.62 where this bug is fixed). Currently, you can solve this bug by getting crashed by elevator on this same level (restarting won't help).
What are you talking about? Public Alpha has 6 full levels in it, more than any game demo I know has ;)
When you redeem a game on Desura, you become alpha owner which means, when game will get on Steam you get a Steam key, just like every other alpha owner.
You are almost right. Editor will be available in one of the future updates (it is still far from being finished). On IGS is an early standalone version, plus not all features are implemented. I've added it as a "Beat the average price"(currently $1.5) bonus, so if I make it available for every owner of Desura version now(which is $1) than what is the point of beating the average?
Portal has an editor, and I hope people do not consider it simple "cloning" ;)
Yeah.. level 5. That bug was fixed, but unfortunately I've never updated the game. Currently you can fix this by dying(get crashed by elevator at the beginning).
Thanks a lot! Will dissect this bug as soon as possible!
OK, got it. I'm pretty new to Linux, so there can be something I'm not aware of. Please report if there is anything else I should know about.
Yup, and player shot just temporarily disables them. So they basically are immortal
For Linux 32 and 64 versions are actually same universal(32 and 64) Unity version, I don't really know how Desura handles them. I could not run Inverto 32 bit on my Ubuntu 64(libraries were missing), so I decided to publish them that way. For Win and Mac I don't even publish 64 versions, since you don't even see difference.
Game crashed cause you don't need to go there, just yet :)
That is a great idea, it is actually easy to implement, but this decompression thing... *gone, testing new gameplay feature*
Hey! Thanks for kind words and for your bug report! I've noticed this glitch, but after latest patch was submitted, so it will be fixed on next update.
I'm thinking about an editor all the time, and I think it's what Inverto needs. Design of levels is pretty modular there is no problem on recreating them in custom editor, but I'm already running out of funds, so in two month game must be released in any state. This makes it hard to think about editor development.
P.S. I think we should move this conversation to forum section here ;)
Hey, I've never heard of it, thanks for the tip!
Hi! Actually your comment is what I mean by saying "give me some feedback". So there is nothing insulting here. It's kind of hard to figure out by myself what people like about Inverto or dislike and want to be improved. So first of all thank you for your feedback.
Next about your suggestions.
I'll be working on environment to make it less cluttered and probably remove "unused" objects, it's what Portal developers eventually decided to do with their environments (they were also more detailed in a "Half-Life style"). I think that most of disorientation problems appear because of that.
Player alignment speed can be increased but it can't be instant as it will disorient player even more. I also probably will increase fire rate a little more. Guess that's where I'll need configuration files with all those customisable variables like Unreal games have...
Now, I've never knew there were performance problems on Linux.
And That is what I call lack of feedback, c'mon all of you guys I cant fix something I'm not aware of. Your bug does not automatically pops out on my machine, so in most cases that bug won't be solved, until you let me know about it!
What is your frame rate (you can toggle it by pressing f11)? There is always a room for increasing performance, I didn't realized I need to improve anything there, cause on my old laptop it runs at 60-80 FPS, while on my working machine at 100 - 180, and it's not some monster-computer.
It seems like there is a critical bug on level #1 (player can't move)!
For new players I suggest to wait for a patch or buy next updated version. My apologies for that.
All other players should be fine, if you've completed first level.
Hi and sorry for this annoying bug I should of tested whole game, but... this bug is only on level #1, I've fixed it, but it will take some time until patch uploaded/approved. Right now, you can do a little cheating (if you're on Ubuntu): go to home/<user>/.config/unity3d/GravityBoxStudio/Inverto folder open prefs file and find pref named "SavedLevel" - you can change it to any number you want.
You've played public alpha 0.41 there, so basically, yes. Version on Desura, however is more recent and has a new level. Also in a few days a new version with two more levels will be released, I'll make a news post on this update later today.
...and HD version is four times(or even more) slower to make assets for. As an artist I love realistic and shiny stuff, but as a developer I like cartoon-ish more.
Yes, of course. All let's plays are very welcome!
Hi! Thanks for info. It seems like the problem with Desura, though I've contacted support and waiting for their response. I'm also running Windows 7, so there should be no problem running a game on 7.
