We've sadly gotten busy with too many other projects and life things. A newer version is "under development" but it is on the backburner for now. We all do hope to come back to IH eventually though, we also find it addictive :)

Are you running Vista or 7 and using the installation version of the game? If you are, make sure to run the program "as administrator" (right click the IH icon in the start menu and it should be the second thing there). That should solve the problem.

Those all seem like pretty good ideas for game modes to me. Don't be surprised if you spot one of them in the next release :)

Thanks for the ideas and support! We're definantly going to continue developing this, and your ideas will definantly help us with our plans for the next version.

Also, to answer your question with idea #2, it is indeed procedurally generated :)

Not so much a bug as it is a feature at this point. It adds an extra little mechanic to the game and it makes the game a bit less frustrating. Plus as you pointed out, it isn't always successful, so you have to use it with caution :)

Haha, on an earlier version of the game, I changed the water texture to look kinda like lava (partially transparent lava ;) ). It actually changed the whole atmosphere of the game, which was scary. But yeah, at the least having different options for water ("classic" water, lava, acid, etc.) would be cool. Here's a pic of a comparison between water and lava-water: Praetorianstudios.net

It can keep roughly the same looks, just with some minor modifications to make it more believable. Who knows, maybe by doing some of the modifications, you can make the tank look even cooler :)

Cool looking, but there are some little bits that would make it inpractical for actual usage.

1) Impracticle to only have a machine gunner and a main gunner/anti-air gunner. The machine gun is far more likely to be automated than the driving of the vehicle, so I'd relegate the duties of a two-man tank as follows: Driver/Main Gunner, anti-air/machine gunner.

2) On the Treads: It is far more practicle to use two treads than 4.
- Having 4 treads will increase the weight per square inch ratio, thus increasing wear and tear on the tank.
- Having 4 treads will also decrease traction, so sliding will occur more often.
- because (from the pictures) the hull of the tank is so close to the ground, the benefits of using 4 treads (ability for two of the treads to be at a different angle than the rest) will be none existant. Unless the entire hull will rotate as well as the treads, it will have roughly the same capabilities as a normal, two tread, tank.

All in all it is good, but I'd recommend looking at real tanks (if it's german, look at some of pictures of a Leopard 2 tank (Current German tank), and try to base the designs slightly off them (this mod is set in about 130 years, so even though Leopards will be horribly outdated by then, the design of the future German tank will most likely be able to slightly resemble the current).

Also, remember to keep in mind that on a tank, having vertical serfaces=bad. Angles provide much more protection. So on the treads and turret, perhaps angle it a bit :) And height is also your enemy...higher the tank is, more of a target it is. It doesn't look like your tank is too tall, but just in case you decide to make it taller (ala the Scorpian from Halo)...

Sorry for the long comment, but I'm rather interested in tanks, and I just want to make sure that this not only looks cool, but would actually be functional as a tank :) I'm not trying to make it look like your model is bad or anything...overall it is fairly good :)
